I've been thinking of time travel latly and I found aninteresting link explaining the theory of time travel. What do you think?

Now the probleme is that if time travel existe why isn't humans from the future visiting us? Are they only able to travel to the future?
My final question is: If you could travel trough what would you do? I (like most ppl with some knoledge of WWII) would kill Hitler.

On the video, it says that if you go fast enough, time will slow for you, so does that mean if you go at very fast speeds you will be young for a long time?

@1337Player

If your mission takes 6 months, you age 6 months.

@Joe96

Yes, that is true. If you take a spaceship and go with it in the speed of light and then come back to Earth one year later (light year) you won't have aged as much as the people on Earth, some may already be dead, people you knew. (I don't really remember exactly how this works though)

Ah I see. Then that just ruins your birthday.

If you travel light speed for 10 years around the Earth in a train, when you get off the train the world would have 'aged' faster than you and the people on the train.

Not everyone believes in fate.

Light years measure distance, not time.

A light year is the distance that light traveled in a year. Which in perspective is a long way.

I overthought is uot a little but whatever.

If you think about it, you have a life plan already leid out for you. your future has already been written so if you went back in time and then went back nothing would actually changed because everything that you did led up to the present and since you actually cant change history. Those of you saying that you will kill someone, it won't work. you wont be able to do what you want your plans will have already been planned out for the future.

Now what have we learned.

1.) it is impossible to change the past
2.) You have your future already written for you.
3.) You can't change the future.

NOTES:

Doing something that was not predicted by the unknown force(just made that up) Will change the future for everybody although it very impossible to do so due to the events of you doing so have been made by the unkown force.

This only took about 5 minutes to think and type up

Now if you owned a time machine and could time travel, I assume that initially you would want to got back in your own life and fix mistakes that you've made personally. The go back in time and real live a moment you found cool and finally go back and see stuff you couldn't like an awesome concert by a band that broke up.

I say though if you owned the time machine that you would be obligated to do more heroic stuff like stop WWII, slavery, Presidential assassinations. However, changing an event won't matter if you go back in time and change an event before it, because this would just change the first event from happening. Now you have to go back in time to the first "bad" event that ever occurred and stop it from happening and then wait around and see what happens later. Yup.

That's just bullshit. Life is not "laid out for you". If you choose not to do something, then it isn't done. If you travel back in time and do it instead, then it is done. Fate is just nonsense, my future is not already written for me, and you've been reading way too many fantasy stories.

Not necessarily. You are forgetting the Grandmother Paradox. If you shoot your Grandmother back in time, you would cease to exist becasue your mother can't be born. And Yet, you are able to kill her...

Cool story bro!

That's my theory and why would you shoot our grandmother or cease to exist for that matter?
