Rats are fun. Though, they are a little gross at first, due to the fact your mind is saying "Omfg put that down!" but once you find out there not evil things out to kill you, there quite fun.

Does your rat live in a cup?

Have you ever heard of a sea rat? They are huge.

id have a rat as long as its not disease

I'm not an animal person, i.e. You stay outside in your borrow or hole or whatnot and I'll stay inside.

I would love having a pet rat. A domesticated one without all those nasty diseases of course.

I use to have four rats as pets when I was a child. It's a shame they have such a short life span.

Also the ones sold as pets aren't the same species of rat as the one associated with being disease ridden.

--"Ha! However interesting as the thought may be, it makes not one bit of difference to how you feel. If a rat were to walk in here right now, as I'm talking, would you greet it with a saucer of your delicious milk?"

-"Probably not."

--"I didn't think so. You don't like them. You don't really know why you don't like them; all you know is you find them repulsive. What a tremendously hostile world a rat must endure. Yet not only does he survive, he thrives. Because our little foe has a instinct for survival and preservation second to none."

Well, I had a rat for about 10 years. She was an albino. I never kept her in the cage and she was pretty friendly with my tarantula. I also never kept the tarantula in her cage, either.

They both just roamed around my room. Pinky (my rat), actually used to sleep in my bed under the blankets. She only bit someone once because they stuck their finger into peanut butter to feed her. Kind of a "duh" moment.

KFK, I would recommend it. They are wonderful pets that become companions. They are very smart and easy to train. My mother has two hairless rats. She didn't bring them up properly and they nip too much.

I did meet a man that had his rat with him all the time. I would ride in his front coat pocket while he drove his motorcycle.

no rats are cool. There is no danger touching a domestic rat. But lots of people have big stereotypes (diseases, disgusting...). What a sad ignorant world we live in =(
