There was another thread about "a small internet world", and this morning a question popped in my head. How big is the internet? (Obviously not in distance or anything, I mean in size)
Don't forget that although when talking about space on a computer or internet it is easy to think of that space as "virtual" or "theoretical" in terms of nonexistent in the physical world. But there is a space for it as hard-drives use magnetic storage ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hard_disk_drive#Magnetic_recording ) where binary data is stored in spaces nano-meters in size. Plus then the physical size of the assembled hard-drive unit. The wiki.answers article goes over a section about the size.
Also the internet infrastructure is not meant to handle today's load:
