There was another thread about "a small internet world", and this morning a question popped in my head. How big is the internet? (Obviously not in distance or anything, I mean in size)
Also maybe in terms of holding information, i don't think computers are as large as the universe...I think the universe can hold a lot more information than our simple internet.
Well, according to an estimate by Google CEO Eric Schmidt the internet is about 5 million tera bytes, and it's expanding by about 100 terabytes per month.

That's outdated information. Remember that the internet grows at an ever increasing rate.
Hmm, is that a map over the Internet? IP's and stuff? That's pretty huge right there.
Partial map of the internet.. Once again Samdawg has managed to provided outdated information. Opte Project maps.
just a little smaller than my wiener
Propagator.
Omg, you're a legend. That was the most epic post ever.
Believer.

That reminds me of estimates that our observable universe contains at least..
atoms... Mainly guesswork but it makes me think about how impossible it is (for most of us at least) to imagine such numbers in any sort of quantity... I can say for myself that it would effectively be infinity if I even attempted to to visualize..
The amount of people is unidentifiable, but according to the world internet there are around 1,407,724,920 people that use the internet or even more.
Of course that number keeps going higher everyday, so the total amount is undetermined and unstable, so there you, over 1 billion people use the internet everyday.
