So there's an apocalypse (hypothetically, I'm not one of those people who carry a vial of lethal poison around waiting for the world to end). Almost 90% of the world's population is wiped out (a little over half a million people left worldwide). You found one survivor a week later(whoever you want). What would you do after the collapse of society? (For fun, to survive, etc.)

I would be absolutely amazed that I had survived somehow. And also be more or less traumatized due to this catastrophy, the amount of people having died, probably having lost both family and friends, and having lived through unspeakable horrors.
1. Year's supply of food & water 2. Any gun/weapon I can find 3. Shelter 4. Communication (Phone/Laptop/Internet/etc.) 5. TV (if had communication) & Video games 6. 2-5 survivors (So I won't be lonely) 7. Light/Electricity 8. Heat (Heater/Air Conditioner)

Yeah... well, if you live in New Jersey, lucky for you, but if you don't, there's no airplane/car that you can't even go there, since there's an apocalypse. So, what are you going to do now?
I'd find my girlfriend, repopulate a bit, search in vain for friends and family, go insane, accuse my girlfriend of causing the apocalypse, accuse her of being a zombie just in case i'm wrong about he causing it all (women, eh?) and then kill her. Further driving myself deeper into the depths of insanity...then, when i got hungry i'd wander, and upon reaching the hill on the horizon, look down to see a road, with cars, and people, and a sign for nevada... I'm going to the doctor tomorrow because my friends says i have issues...[truth]

A few things: 1.It would probably be a challenge even finding a week's worth, let alone a whole year. A good idea saving some up, though. 2.That's reasonable 3.If I had to look for a place to crash, I would probably Just barricade my house; I know the area, I know where everything is, and I could spend my time fortifying it instead of looking for a new place 4.Communication is a good idea. If I wanted to look for survivors, I would use a little caution, though. For one thing you wouldn't know who (or what) is out there, and what their intentions are. As for the phone/internet part, they would probably be down. But, at first, I wanted this thread to answer if the internet would still be up in an apocalypse...then I decided against it, because I thought that would be a little spammish. 5.You probably wouldn't get cable, but if you had power (and a console) I'm sure you could play games. 6.I would just look for survivors... 7.If there was no power, you would have to make your own. A good example is The colony, which I think is an awesome show. They set up solar panels in the first season and made a windmill in the second. 8.I'm no mechanic, so I would probably just try to seal up my house with mud or whatever else I could find. In the summer, I would try setting up the fans you have in your attic, maybe I would plant a tree next to my house (proven to help insulate), or just wear alot of blankets...

If I didn't go insane I would just probably end my life with a slow death since I don't want the human population to grow again because look what humanity has done.
well, this thread makes me think. the government will have control over the world like its wanted since like ever. id be surprised i survived. id be moar suprised that the government powers hadnt done anything about it, by the time i relised what happened. obviously, see if the internet works. see whats going down. chill the fuck out. obviously have a zombie plan (if its zombies). otherwise. find some frands. get some weapons. a nice place, with a view. a route to get f00d. raid everything. and just chill.
I have never faced this sort of situation, but I'll assume from my current numbness that I would stay sane and rational and thus survive. I would first find weapons, because if I survived the apocalypse it would make sense that my house and therefore my canned food would be there for light consumption. My choice of weapons would be an AK- 47 (because I'm russian and also because you can run over those things with a tank and still have them work) and 2 .45 revolvers (they're just awesome, any fans of The Dark Tower will agree). I would then proceed to find farmable land, and if all the crops were wiped out I would try and plant new ones. My choice for finding a survivor would either be my best friend or a female(logically to try and repopulate, also I'm not much of a DIY kind of guy if you know what I'm saying). From there I would try and find a library and peruse my way through every book I please. Depending on what kind of damage we are talking about here, I would also try and find an engineer to fix any power plants to restore electricity, like in The Stand by Stephen King. From there I would simply try and keep myself and a reemerging society in order and sanity.

One advantage is that On blunt weapons, you never run out of ammo (unless it breaks) and it's not as loud (won't attract attention) 2.I would probably just make a greenhouse...only thing is I hate gardening, so my food would probably die D: 3.If you restored power, you would need to maintain them, and provide fuel...also, what if it didn't power your house or the one that did was far away? 4.I did see the Last Stand, and it was a cool series/ movie thing?
