You know, those things right next to your name on your profile page? Mine is green...

Yep they do, but I think that the dots turn green only when you update your profile.

There may be a set action that stimulates the dot to turn green, but it's never 100% right; it's unpredictable and irregular. I'm also going to refer this to others that intend to make new activity dot threads--I think this is #6 lol

sometimes it's correct, it was on for me twice now.

The feature is sometimes active and sometimes not. It is not a great indicator at all. Something else will be implemented for AGv3.
