OK.This is basically about whats your favorite dinosaur(s)and why you like them. For me I am fond of the Velociraptor.I like how its small but ferocious.
Hmm.. tough choice, so I'll pick one favorite from each of the 3 eras of dinosaurs.
From the Triassic: Chindesaurus From the Jurassic: Tie between Dilophosaurus and Compsognathus From the Crustaceous: Stygimoloch, however special mention goes to Deinonychus.
The Deinonychus seems pretty interesting it's a larger raptor with feathers, shows how the dinosaures evolved into birds.
The main reason I give it special mention is because of this. While it is a true raptor, it also has led scientists to look more closely at dinosaurs as the ancestors of modern avians, as well as further study into the possibility that at least some Crustaceous period dinosaurs, and perhaps even some Jurassic period ones as well, may have been warm blooded, not cold.
Another fun fact the Deinonychus was the actual model for the Velociraptors in the movie Jurassic Park. Though to it's defense at the time they were believed to be the same species.
Megalosaurus because it looks really awesome let me see if i can find one ah! here: megalosaurs
You know that the picture in the link is of an old and false reconstruction? The other one on the site, the biped one, is rather right.
As for my favourite dinosaur.. as a kid it always was the velociraptor, nowadays I think the Oviraptor and Deinonychus are just as cool (especially Oviraptor with it's neat tail feathers). Two other dinosaurs I hold special interest to are Deinocheirus ("terrible hand", at least what has been found up to now, and the Amargasaurus, for he has two rows of spines on the back unlike many others with only one row. Oh, and of course the Microraptor; he had long feathers on all four limbs. Must have looked pretty awesome.
Definitely would have to be the Stygimoloch just because i've always heard the name mean horned demon from the river of hell (aka Styx)... awesome huh?
Brontosaurus isn't a valid name anymore, since it had a wrong skull. Now, with the right head, it's called Apatosaurus. And the picture shows a fantasy leviathan thingie if I'm right. Apatosaurus was more like this: rev=/images%3Fq%3Dapatosaurus%26um%3D1%26hl%3Dfr%26sa%3DN%26biw%3D1280%26bih%3D843%26tbs%3Disch:1&um=1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=996&vpy=70&dur=664&hovh=208&hovw=243&tx=90&ty=120&ei=1DTQTMrrHMOhOta7kM4E&oei=1DTQTMrrHMOhOta7kM4E&esq=1&age=1&ndsp=30&ved=1t:429,r:5,s:0" alt="http://www.google.ch/imgres?imgurl=http://de.academic.ru/pictures/dewiki/97/apatosaurus.gif&imgrefurl=http://de.academic.ru/dic.nsf/dewiki/1354026&usg=__-9Rxrr5GesItHated5J_vaW_C5A=&h=514&w=600&sz=71&hl=fr&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=SEJ0ClH2UMw8cM:&tbnh=133&tbnw=157&rev=/images%3Fq%3Dapatosaurus%26um%3D1%26hl%3Dfr%26sa%3DN%26biw%3D1280%26bih%3D843%26tbs%3Disch:1&um=1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=996&vpy=70&dur=664&hovh=208&hovw=243&tx=90&ty=120&ei=1DTQTMrrHMOhOta7kM4E&oei=1DTQTMrrHMOhOta7kM4E&esq=1&age=1&ndsp=30&ved=1t:429,r:5,s:0" />
