Hi everyone, just a quick heads up regarding the recent "ost a photo of yourself" threads.
We *want* to allow you to post photos, but we obviously need a much stricter set of rules and guidelines so it doesn't get abused. I'm writing up a message right now for the moderators to read and provide feedback, and once we all reach an agreement on the rules, I will start a new post (with a picture of myself, of course), and make it a sticky post.
Abusing that photo thread will result in swift and strict consequences, up to and including permanent bans. I have little patience or tolerance for people who try to bend the rules, or question the authority of our trusted moderator team. Ban decisions will be final, and questioning the bans will result in further bans.
I'm just as curious about what everyone else looks like, but I won't tolerate people who choose not to abide by our site's Terms and Conditions. Especially the Rules of Conduct (#5 on the page).
Efan, the thread is going to be about the users of AG, and will require you to be in the photo. By all means, get someone to take a photo of you with your dog, but photos without people will be deleted, and repeat offenders will be dealt with.
Not until the admins and mods have had their talks...waitin' for that.....
I'm going on about the people that abuse the threads that are meant to have the regular photos of people. They instead post googled images, photoshopped pics, memes, lolcat pics, canihascheezburger pics, and other lol pics that are obviously not you.
If they were regular photos made by users like us, then it would have been fine. If there was no abuse, then such threads would be more lenient towards letting them live.
We're finishing up the rules/guidelines, and I'll start the new thread. Just keep in mind that this is our FINAL attempt at making this work. If things get out of hand or we have to start banning people (temporary or otherwise), we won't allow photo posting threads.
Let's just be clear on this. I know where each and every one of you live; if not, I will. Google Earth is very...resourceful, shall we say. I really can't guarantee what will happen, should you choose to display a rather questionable photo. It will certainly be a....night to remember, if you catch my drift, mmmhmhmhmhmhmhm....
