so yeah im a little worried about COD black ops and the gore... i was a little disgusted when i watched the preiviews. Does anyone know if there will be a mature filter in game like in WaW? thanks. (and dont post any crap about how blood makes the game more fun because that does not answer my question.)
Er.. Calm down guys. jimbobobman, there's really nothing you can do if you don't like the gore in Black Ops. Unless it has a feature to switch it off, I suggest not getting it. locoace3, I don't see why you wouldn't want it on or off but I'm not going to question it, I'm just going to tolerate it. Compared to what else I gotta deal with I'm actually happy he's got this 'roblem'
But I kind of do suggest you get used to it, chances are you are interested in First Person Shooters if you made this about Black Ops. Crysis is a good game, and still top-notch graphics but years old Newer games would possibly have worse gore ect, especially the more comedial fashion ones.
Most games with intense gore normally have filters. Not because people are freaked out by the blood, but for performance reasons. Even if you cannot turn off all the bloody bits entirely, you'll be able to drop a few settings to make it less realistic.
I think the more you play with games showing dismemberment or violent head asplosions the more you just begin to ignore it and pay attention to the game itself. Much like people who watch lots of horror movies don't jump as much when a zombie decides to leap out onto camera.
Also Call of Duty was made by IW (Infinity Ward) not id. id would never touch a game like Call of Duty.
i just find any gore disgusting and little unecessary... i just asked beceause i prefer not to see it. (im still getting it either way, but would be better if you could turn off the gore.)
A first person shooters where you launch a missile at someone and all they do is fall over is boring, I want my missile to shed someone up...appropriately.
So to you one year olds who dont like gore...ITS RATED MATURE for a simplistic and well defined reason.
This post is not about why you think blood should be in a game. I'm asking those people who got black ops today of there is a mature filter. Please stay on subject.
Sorry for Double posting. There is *SPOILER-IF YOU HAVE NOT PLAYED THE CAMPAIGN THEN DO NOT PRORESS PAST THIS ANNOYINGLY LONG-WARNING* A scene during Vietnam, where your character pulls the pin off a Vietnamese soldiers grenade, and he explodes....literally, POP-chunks everywhere.
