i always notice when i look at my profile it says im 20sumthin out of 687,??? and ive always wanted to know who the lowest ranked user is... and how would one find out.. oh and what rank are you?
These leaves so many questions. What is the usefulness of a ghost account? aside from anyone who just wanted to read comments on games and not doing anything else.
Is it not possible to find out who the lowest rank user is? Maybe everyone with the lowest rank gets the highest spot possible so if 200,000 people had 0 ap that would say something like usser 200,000 out of 600,100 for one user and then user 200,000 out of 600,101 for the next account with 0ap?
If the method of determining account ranks based on AP is accurate, then that would indicate that we have 445,252 registered accounts with 0 AP. Awful lot of ghosts and inactives. However I would think it would be better for AG to keep them as they may get advertising money based on users, or perhaps based on Alexa rankings, in which case deleting the inactive accounts would have no effect on the revenue stream.
All the zero points user are the lowest ranked. Actually they are ranked #239,084. (e.g. Milan, Rome)
Its like a league table. Lets say that the first team has 3 points and all the others 0, so the charts are: 1- A 3 Points 2- B 0 P C 0 D 0 B, C, D are all ranked second, hence in this case last.
I'm guessing there are a fair bit who made profiles and then just play games without doing anything to earn AP as well.
Yeah, AG3 is going to have features to try and remedy this by making the gaming experience more "active". We won't see positive results until a year, I fear.
God why are there so many ghosts? #55,084 out of 686,532 users is my ranking. I think that the link needs to be more updated. There has to be more ghost users than you think. ...
A few might not even be ghosts. Maybe they just lurk around and don't do anything but play games.
This is really unlikely though. I'm sure we'll get a bigger idea of who's inactive when we get AG 3.0 showing achievements for games (which will show who is just "laying" on the site) and karma points.
Often persons make accounts and for whatever reason they don't use them or they just forget them. Ghost accounts are everywhere, so I really don't consider them a big deal. Anyhow, I think I read somewhere that inactive accounts are going to be deleted after some time, I could be wrong about this though.
There are around 690,000 users right now. But when I did the URL trick and typed in a URL to see if there was a millionth user, there was. This means that there have been accounts that have been banned. And unless the admins/mods deleted 310,000+ users in the last three years then something weird happened.
Or I could be crazy and have no idea what I'm talking about.
