Today is Rememberance Day, also known as Veteran's Day. Today marks the 92nd anniversary of the end of World War One, also know as The War to End all Wars. Today is a day where we bow our heads in solemn respect for those who have died fighting for our countries throughout the years. May their memory never fade, lest we forget.
Meh, I'd of just killed myself. I'm going through a patch of rather nihilistic and depressing thought at the moment so ignore me when I say that. I would probably of hidden away - I'm good enough at surviving in the countryside.

Sigh... teenage angst...
Have a some respect for the dead. People died in some of the most horrible manners possible. War leaves only losers and victims, not heros and glory. Some 60 million people died in WW2. 60 million had to undergo the pain and torture of war. Show some dignity for the our fallen brothers and sisters.
Well, from a purely scientific standpoint - we're merely a bunch of atoms when you break us down and I can't see any objective meaning to life - so yes.
(It seems I should of made clear that I've been playing devils advocate - apparently a little too well)

Look at this through a scientific view: warfare has caused massive destruction to the environment. That alone deserves some observation. Consider WW2 a man-made version of a great natural disaster like the meteor that slammed into the Earth resulting in a mass extinction. Or Maybe an ice age that devastated the Northern regions of the Earth.
I don't really have good opinion war or people who participate in it. History is full of with conflict and people defending their land and ideas. Or trying to subvert others.
And it could of been averted if Hitler hadn't been such an idiot.
It would of been much simpler if people just let him make bad art instead of destroying his dreams which resulted in WWII.
Meh, not really. And it could of been averted if Hitler hadn't been such an idiot.
Hitler was not an idiot he was a genius one of the smartest men in the world but it is the way he used this power that started world war 2. He really was a genius but the key is he was also crazy mad insane etc.

And what of morality? What of human emotion? Do these things not accout for anything? Or are you so twisted in your own pessimism of mankind that you believe these to be lies?
lol Hitler wasn't that smart. He just played on using minorities as scapegoats. He certainty wasn't a genius in military matters. I remember today those who still have to live with what they had to do in war.

Welcome to 90% of this site, as I've been quickly finding out.
Occasionally, well no generally, science can't give you answers about humanity. Am I simply a bunch of atoms? Of course. But am I also much more than that? Of course.
I wholeheartedly agree with Ron. Picking up the pieces is better than staring at the shattered vase (so to speak).
Anyway, can you guys stop digging into me - I merely created an opposing standpoint and argued for it. Those views don't reflect my own and it feels like you're tearing into me when I've already said that those weren't my actual views.
I also agree with ron while watching nazi hunters they threw a guy in jail for killing a few italianos under orders and the people who wanted him in jail werent even born then they hardly even knew what happened they mainly did it out of hatred of nazis and this guy hadnt even been in service for over 30 years they just need to get over it.
