CoD. The shields seem almost childish for Halo. CoD brings the real war life into your own home, easier to relate to then Halo...

Halo it takes more skill to play and has a much better ranking system. that way even if you lose you don't boost

Well, Halo is alot more futuristic than CoD and it takes more skill to play.

For experience: Halo

For people playing their first shooter: CoD

Personal Fav. : CoD. Lots of noobs = lots of Fun!

CoD as a series. Not only can you use every weapon to kill effectively in multiplayer but they have generally had good storylines

Halo it takes more skill to play and has a much better ranking system. that way even if you lose you don't boost

Halo doesnt take more skill, it just takes spamming headshots with the overpumped DMR. The battle rife has ruined that games multipler by removing all the other weapons as combat effective with exceptions of surprise sword/shotgun/rocket and extreme distance/hidden sniper.

They seriously could have removed all the guns other than the dmr and the multiplayer would still be the exact same...

Coming from...

I tell ya what, remove every gun except one per weapon type in CoD, and it will be the exact same.

Same logic.

Halo > CoD, I don't even need to play Halo that much to know that. It's obvious because CoD is a rip off with money - they bring out a new game every year - which I'm cool with, but it's only that they bring new stuff equal to a content patch each game. Halo? They done kind of the same, I'm not gonna lie, however Reach was a major step forward.

Also, I'd be sure not to point fingers Spyton, if you're going to rip off the DMR as being OP then I would like to suggest:

Akimbo Ranger
Akimbo Model 1887
Akimbo G18
Any sniper ever on MW2.

Oh, and that's if any of the other too-effective weapons on MW2 doesn't kill you first.

Oh wait, we'll just use a shield instead.

MW2 Had terrible gameplay, but great graphics at its time, a new (and nice imo) artstyle.
Black Ops is just so terrible, I can't tell if it's balanced because Snipers are so ineffective due to hit registration, if your crosshair is on target, it doesn't matter, apparently.

Oh, plus they ended up feeding the retarded CoD community with QS, Tomahawks, Ballistic Knifes and Crossbows as well.

Developers of CoD are often seen as greedy and arrogant.
The worst thing? They can do it and get paid for it, in that way I can't exactly blame them.

Halo? Yeah, it takes more skill because you need the aim. Of course I don't like the fact that it requires the Xbox (the latest ones), but it's not just about that which makes it good. They implemented vehicles great, and the maps show quick-pace and hell they do not try and make it look realistic - they know it isn't.

However aim is barely skillful. If you want to show your skill, willpower and abilities then go with a strategy game where macro and micro will test you without a doubt.

If you don't believe me, then try this.

Screw your lucky cross-map jibba jabba, if you can do this then you are bloody amazing.
The best thing? You actually need to be smart and keep your cool.

I definitely would say that CoD Black Ops is much more noob friendly (noob as in person who uses cheap techniques to get kills), but there are always non-pedophile people out there who are good sports and just want to have a good time.

non-pedophile people out there who are good sports and just want to have a good time.

Hell to the yeah to that, but either of these are a bad choice. The playerbase in all FPS's now are riddled with obscene language users and retards. If you go to a game you expect "bad game", "OMG NOOBS", "HACKERS" and the like, whereas in an RTS game where some brainpower is actually required people are generally nicer, it's a "tradition" to say "gl hf" (good luck have fun) when the game starts and to "gg" (good game) when the game ends, regardless of whether you win or lose.

Usually? There's not too much talk beside that, but if you can get people talking it's generally great. Competition is actually there - it's not where you are imagining that you need to beat that guy for first place, it's where you're on a ladder, people can beat you and take you down a notch or you can win and go up a notch. It's great but also made inaccessable to casual players.

If you just want to have a good time, I think the best thing to do is to buy a game like Magicka and play it with friends. If you don't kill your friends on accident, you're doing it wrong.

Spoiler. Semi-spoiler.
I was playing it with my friend as we wanted to try and do it properly (the real properly, not the killing of eachother XD), but even then it was difficult. I wanted to practice 2 abilties, the first we unlocked was Meteor Shower and hell... That was dangerous - the sky went dark, giant fireballs came down on us and the castle and I think we both died laughing.

The next? Thunder Bolt... After we killed the dudes.

It didn't turn out well for my mate, I was saying "Okay, just let me see how good this ability is / looks", I try it and I accidentally killed him for 5,000 damage (in this game, that's a lot xD)... immediately we laughed so hard because I didn't even aim it at him and hell.

Oh, off topic? XD Sorry, but yeah, no arguments against Halo being better has arisen yet.
It will take a while for logical ones to come up, especially.

That...
Fails.

So bad.

Do you even know what the army is like? I know I don't, but I know for a fact it is nowhere near as realistic as CoD puts it. If you want realism, play Bad Company 2 - that is probably the closest you'll get to a realistic shooter, furthermore in Battlefield 3.

12 Minute Trailer of BF3 on Battlefield.com

Realism in games is not great, if you want to die in 1-2 shots (being combat-disabled in one) then that is hard to use skill in - only strategy would be the factor, in which case get Starcraft II or Age of Empires Online.
Battlefield pushes fun realism in games to its limits, if they go further, I've every confidence they could find a way to make it fun. Call of Duty? No, they change tids and bits equal to a content patch, release one every year and call it a brand new game.

Bad Company as a series was not a full effort, DICE stated, therefore I think it was a mere experiment to see how well destructible ground comes out.

Look at when the guy shoots the rocket on that trailer. Tell me that isn't the best thing you could do in a shooting game.

Anyway, CoD is not realistic, that's the only point I'm trying to prove. It's alright - but when the developers try and make it look like "this is how war is done"... it's pretty pathetic.

Halo is better because it has the Forge, from there you can get near unlimited amounts of gameplay time, it has varied weapons and game modes, good interactivity with things around you and vehicles are great (and balanced imo) as well.

Realism is not a concern for either of these games, to be fair.
