The best way to state it would be something like, I want the ketchup to flow toward a ninety degree angle, in the positive x-axis, from the horizon.

Don't you mean down the y-axis? X goes left to right. Y goes down to up.

Just say, I want the ketchup to get out of the bottle. Problem solved.

Why can't you just get on of those ketchup containers that restaurants have, the ones with the squeeze lids?

Well maybe that ketchup bottle is out. How are you going to get the ketchup out then?

Let me contemplate the obvious obscurities in life rather than getting some darn ketchup.

I get what your saying. It is interesting. But I guess we want the ketchup going toward the top of the bottle (when it's upright) so the top is referring to the bottles previous state.

I usually like the ketchup going to my food and then in my mouth.

I'd rather use the ketch-up pouches.

I've been annoyed by those sachets far too many times.

I want my ketchup to flow to the top of the bottle, by placing it in an inverted position which makes the top the bottom and vice versa.

I'm pretty sure the top of the bottle is still the top even if you flip it. It's specifically designed as the top of the bottle regardless of position.

I hate the ketchup packets because they will come out the wrong way if you it the wrong way.

On the other hand I see everyone's point of view on this subject. I find it quite interesting.
