The Inheritance Cycle used to be a trilogy:Eragon,Eldest, and Empire. But that doesn't mean that the 4th is Empire. And i'd like to hear people's suggestions of the next dragon rider (please not this junk about Arya or Orik being it). By the way it's coming out July 2011-July 2012
P.S. Commanderdude Orik is NOT going to be Dragon Rider!!! His whole race would despise him!
Orik is also the friggen King of Dwarves. But seriously, why are we even guessing? There's no point, because there isn't going to be a shock value to this. Why? Because Paolini has spoon fed his audience a story that, if altered ever so slightly in terms of character and plot, could be fantastic. And yet, the disappointment remains.
@CD7:Why would it be that or Galbatorix? The dwarves not being part of the spell has absolutely nothing to do with Galbatorix. In addition, you act as if they can just be added willy-nilly, when this is not the case. Also, dwarves despise and distrust dragons by nature, not to mention they are creatures that obviously have an affinity to the ground. Lastly, everyone and their mother knows that if Paolini attempted to make the last rider a dwarf, his career would take a huge hit.
agreed possum. dwarves hate being above ground let alone the sky! Also as possum said they hate dragons and if you read the books when eragon and saphira entered the dwarven home they only let saphira in because they dont even reach her knee and respect for eragon.

I'm shocked it hasn't already, but, then again, I don't suppose many care about inconsistentcies in his writing and poor character and plot development...
I bought the book , read it , lolled at the outcome and then sighed at the fact that there won't ever be a decent film about it , the story itself was not that suckish but i've read much better. As for the new rider , lol i'm not going to reveal it cuz i'm no spoiler , but it's gonna get some people to say"i told you so"
overall point of view : liked eragon , rest was minorly dissapointing , switching back to Raymond E. Feist
