I saw that there isn't a thread about it. Anyway, I think that Israel won most than anyone else because that it shows that Isael isn't the one pressurising the US into attacking Iran.

I don't think the government buys guns for the military from a private source

Ahem...
Lockheed Martin (company profile)
Boeing (company profile)
Northrop Grumman (company profile)
Raytheon (company profile)
General Dynamics (company profile)
United Technologies
Science Applications International Corporation

Take a quick look at the Wiki's for all ten. These guys are allowed to sell weapons to anybody i.e. the highest bidder. They sell to a worldwide market.

It seems that we can all agree that corporations that have the government's hands in their pockets are often corrupt, and I don't see how socializing these businesses (giving control to the government) will fix this problem. In fact, I see more problems that will arise.

This is exactly what has been happening tho. This is why we are in the political and financial crisis of today. Its been engineered by rich people (who are now richer) to create a climate of control of their workforce. They do this every now and then. History repeats.

We have really gone far off topic

Sort of, except that I feel this is all linked. The "government" doesnt want you to know the nasty stuff its doing thats supposedly there in secret to protect you... really its there to protect the moneymakers and their investments. The whole war is a charade. It doesnt exist. This is a political coup, and perhaps the government/corps are afraid it will show something that will tar them with a long overdue brush of corruption and manipulation.

Personally I see a bunch of non-sense, so I think it will take a REAL reporter, you know the kind that uncover truths, not the kind that tell tall stories for CNN, it will take one of these real reporters to bring anything coherent out of this mess of military speak.

whew!

This article has some useful information. Here are some tid-bits from it:

"In the short run, we're almost out of business," a senior US diplomat told the Reuters news agency, saying it could take five years to rebuild trust. "It is really, really bad. I cannot exaggerate it. In all honesty, nobody wants to talk to us ... Some people still have to, particularly (in) government but ... they are already asking us things like, 'Are you going to write about this?'"

America's current envoy to the United Nations has also been criticised following the revelation that Hillary Clinton instructed them to procure credit card and frequent flyer numbers, mobile phone numbers, email addresses, passwords and other data from foreign diplomats and top UN officials, including the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon

I lolled quite alot at this. Did he just notice?

And as for the Hilary Clinton stuff... um... no wonder they are embarrassed. Thats called corruption. Or she just wanted to make sure they were spending USA dollars on the weapons they promised they would.

Also... I made a boo boo.
I thought this was also about teh leaked military documents. Apologies Wolf.

Arrest'd.

Reporting from London â" Julian Assange, the founder of the controversial WikiLeaks website, was arrested here Tuesday and ordered to remain in custody until a hearing next week on his possible extradition to Sweden, where he is wanted for questioning over allegations that he sexually assaulted two women.

Assange, 39, turned himself in to police Tuesday morning, hours after Britain received a formal warrant for his arrest from Swedish authorities. Assange denies any wrongdoing and says he will fight the attempt to extradite him, beginning with a hearing Dec. 14.

That could be the start of a legal battle that could drag on for weeks or even months, in part because the case against him in Sweden remains rather murky. Assange, who is Australian, is eager to avoid extradition for fear that it could set the stage for him to be sent to the U.S. if prosecutors there charge him with offenses relating to the WikiLeaks disclosures of State Department diplomatic cables and classified Pentagon files related to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

I see it going two ways. Either it's mostly all true and now governments are trying to whittle away at Wikileaks. Paypal, DDOS, arresting him and threats, possibly more that we wont' know.

Or this is just one big Ruse and Assange is working for the government and they have some kind of plan in all of these leaks. Possibly releasing minor information (all the stuff he leaks is minor in comparison to what they're should be), this in turn calms the people because they now feel as they have two sides and are battling for balance and it's not all skewed to either side. When in reality there is one puppet master.

I wouldn't rule it out, that's for sure. I mean some of this stuff does seem a bit fishy. The government has known that the information was leaked and that Assange got it from our boy in the military.

Wouldn't they try to nicely persuade him, and then...maybe harshly persuade him into not doing this if it is THAT terrible?

While I don't know anything about the founder of Wikileaks, I find it odd that after what just happened he is suddenly arrested.

He claims that it's a smear campaign just to get him arrested. Which, it sure does look like it if he just turned himself in like that.

But, yes, it is odd that all the sudden these sexual assault charges are brought up.

One of the accusers of sexual assualt against Assange did work with a US funded group that was backed by a member of the CIA.

I might be doing the same...

Commander, I did see that! I suspect that won't be the end of it, either. I was really hoping some of these Wikileak documents would mention 9/11 events.

Don't you just love it when Anonymous bands together and puts it's mind to something? It's a rather beautiful sight to see so many Anons working together to achieve a goal.

Yup with all these pro and anti wikileakers it will only end when they get some new targets. Also I thought the bar fight spilling onto the street was a good analogy for what is happening.

Hmm, I saw something about that turning himself in...

Well there's evidence that he committed a **** in Sweden and he was wanted worldwide for that. He hid himself in England until now.

Now he's afraid that Sweden or England will give him out to America, that's why he was hiding in the first place.

@Avorne

Yes, that's true. Not fun for Visa, Master Card etc. users though. Hehe.
