you seem to be locking most of the topics... I went to the tavern because I thought you could have random topics here or is anything considered spam? do you have such a strict rule of things? is this topic considred spam or a rebelious act? somehow I have the feeling this will get locked at first sight of the moderators... I just wanted to say my opinion about this....are you as strict as to lock topics with opinions about what you are doing???
Topics that are not related in other catergories are welcome in here, although many users due abuse this and think they can get away with spammy topics, or topics with no discussion potential.
I'm assuming you're talking about Project Friend Link. As Gantic said, this project would lead many people to comment on peoples' profiles, including those that are inactive, for points. Some statements may be good enough to suffice, a good deal of others would be spam. This topic alone promoted it, so it had to be locked and advised against.
You just gotta make threads that aren't against the T&C. If you can think of a great thread that encourages discussion, in the thread alone, then by all means, go right ahead! I myself encourage more threads, since that promotes activity. They just have to be good ones :3
While we do welcome topics which don't fit into other specific categories here in the Tavern, that doesn't mean that any topic whatsoever is welcome. We still look for a thread that inspires discussion, doesn't promote spam, and does not violate the TaC of AG. If you don't quite understand why a particular thread is being locked feel free to ask. I can't speak for the others, but when I lock a topic I try to make sure I make a post explaining why I am doing so first.
The mods lock pointless topics or topics that do not foster a discussion between users. You should probably read the Terms and conditions of AG as well as the threads up on the top of each forum. Many have different rules and suggestions to help users.
