First off, if anything I say here is already part of the site and I am just missing it I apologise
I think having the ability to edit or delete your own posts after you have posted them is an important part of a forum.
Another good thing to have in a forum is the ability to preiview your post as others will see it before actually posting it.
One other thing that would be helpful is to be able to subscribe to different topics so everytime a new post appears an e-mail is sent to the subscriber notifying them and to automatically be subscribed to any topic the user creates.
These are just a few small suggestions that I think can improve the forum for everyone.
Yeah pretty much all of them have been discussed thoroughly, the third one being the least. I also like the idea of being notified when there is a new post in a topic, like how GetSatisfaction goes. I'd imagine though, with enough threads marked, the inbox in your e-mail would pile up pretty quickly. GS even gets crazy if there's a new bug in Beta or when there's a popular new idea.
