Well when im on here I do feel like a nerd. But it kind of releaves the stress that I get in school from all the people who dont like me. So although in real life im not a nerd, im a so called "cool person" and get girls and stuff, this just kind of gets me away from all that. It lets me get out the nerdy sideof me. lol.
I was talking to a friend on fb chat the other day and I used the term "irl" and she had a right go at me was well random... she had no idea what it meant and when she found out wasn't very hapy lol freekin' weird XD

Well I wouldn't call anyone a nerd for vising a website. Nor is it a correct definition of people who come to this site would fall into.

A person who has a subatomic particle wallpapers that interconnects forces and hypothetical particles, remembers Latin names for animals for fun owns 3 chess sets and has about 20 openings with about 100+ algorithms for a Rubik cube and frequent xkdc/forum and laughs at the big bang theory as they get stuff wrong is a nerd.

The science part isn't really us, but the socially inept part is pretty accurate.
I would tend to think not. In fact I find it to be quite to the contrary. Those of us who tend to frequent forums and such, especially on sites like AG, are not only (typically) escaping the stressors of our day to day lives, but we are here because we know that there are other like-minded people here with whom we can interact with. As Darkroot posted by pasting the definition of nerd, it implies that there is a social ineptitude at play, which most, if not all of us are lacking in one way or another as is evidenced by our desire to be in an area that requires social interaction.
No. I wouldn't say we are nerds. We are Gamers. I read a poll in, i think, microplay magizine, and it said something about gaming becoming a more social activity since their invention, and that more and more people (girls, older people) are finding video games to be a healthy passtime, (compared to watching t.v etc.)
I don't realy get the bad part of being a nerd !Nerds are just people that like reading!They do stuff on their lifes they become doctors scientists and many more that we cant even imagine!Sometimes i wish i was a nerd!And finaly for answering your question NO you are not a nerd you just like to play some games
Being a nerd is a personality. Just posting on forums or playing on flash games doesn't make you one, but rather the characteristics that makes you a nerd. There are hicks at my school that play on AG for crying out loud. That's after they figure out how to get to one and start it up. Being a nerd isn't as bad as people think either. You can be one and still look good, for one thing. It only sculpts your personality , but not your physical characteristics.
