Last.FM is basically a website in which you make an account, and from there proceed to list all artists that you like, making a list. It "scrobbles" music you listen on your iPod or Computer (or even xBox) and registers it on the site, and this way people know what kind of music you like, what bands you listen to the most, etc. It also makes "radio" stations based on the bands you like, a particular band, or a common tag/genre (examples: Metal, Progressive Rock, Electronic...). So yeah, it's pretty sweet.
Soooo this topic is to post your last.fms and compare your music tastes to others'. =3 DeepBlueMajesty.fm
The one above is mine. From there you can check your own music and the site tells you how similar are our tastes (Very Low, Low, Medium, High, Very High or Excellent). So yeah, I highly recommend the site to everyone.
Go ahead! Post your last.fms or make one =3
NOTE: I don't own the site, nor I am gaining any kind of profit by posting this thread. This is just a discussion thread about the site.
I got mine recently and didn't get scrobbling set up until about two months after I got my account, so my track average is a little over half what it should be. Here it is~

Your musical compatibility with Qualia486 is Very High Music you have in common includes Pain of Salvation, Opeth, Spock's Beard, Yes and Atheist.
Not to bust your chops there parrot657, but I have the same thing with YouTube if I want to listen (and if I feel like it) watch my favorite songs... so why make another account on LastFM?
To add a related question on the topic: what's the benefit for me then here?
It keeps a record of everything you listen to, recommends you new music,m and if you put in your region of living, it recommends to you concerts nearby. It's a fantastic way to discover new music, if I do say so myself.
Also, last.fm is the best internet radio ever. Like, they actually know what they're doing. If I put in, for example, the Cocteau Twins station, I'm not going to be surprised with a Coldplay song. I get my Dead Can Dance and my Slowdive and my Lush and my MBV and all that, along with a ton of obscure stuff - which is another huge part of the discovering factor.
Sorry if this sounds advertise-y, but I wanted to give you a biased lowdorsement (lowdown + endorsement)
I love TSO XD. I would LOVE to see them live for their christmas show. But I don't think they'll ever come to Northern Canada
Sure more likely than Mexico xD.
And on a time full of repetitive, annoying, standard and terrible Christmas songs, it's always nice to have a band such as TSO to make better ones for the season xP
Heh. It's so true. I don't mind instrumental christmas music. It's the annoying pop songs that they insist on playing. Really? Do we need a Britney Spears christmas album? >_<

Yeah <_<. They're purely commercial and annoying releases to: a) Annoy us all. b) Make lotsa moneyz in the process xD
But we still get some quality Christmas music though, so I'm still glad xP
