I would be a band geek but I hate just about everyone in band besides a few kids. Band geeks are the ones who are basically obsessed with band. Then there's me, the one who just shows up to class and rehearsals and I do what I need to do, which is play my instrument, and that's it, and I've been very successful because of that, whilst these stupid "band geeks" are not successful because they post pictures on Facebook of band class and rehearsals rather than try and play their instrument. But that's just my school though.
How about someone with a different instrument. I not in the concert band, but I am in the Jazz Band, and I play bass guitar (I would use my orchestra bass for Jazz band if I got the choice). I'm not a band geek, but my fellow bass player seems to be. He gets the most expensive instruments it seems and he seems to live for playing bass.

BOOOOO! You would be a much better instrument player if you had a passion for it. Those guys have a passion for band, but it seems as though their skills of instrument playing aren't as great.
eh, I played a few instruments when I was in school. Started out in marching band, then went to concert and finally jazz band. Initially I started out playing clarinet because of a girl, then realized I didn't like it so moved to sax. Played alto and tenor through high school, but haven't picked up an instrument in over 10 years. Tried to learn guitar but my hands won't work right due to nerve damage so I gave it up.

Well here's the thing: I love to play trumpet, but I'm not obsessed with the idea of being in band like these people are. I try my hardest to play the trumpet to the best of my ability, while they don't try (or at least it doesn't seem like they try)
ok my fellow band people. does this bug you. when people who think they are SOOOOOOO good go and try out for a drum corpse like blue knights or phantom regement. to me that bugs the hell out of me because they actually suck XD

That hasn't happened at my school yet.
But I do hate when people try to prove they're better than me. There's one person at my school better than me at trumpet and she never gets in my face about it. We're actually good friends. But the rest of them can go to hell. God, I hate most of the kids...
And by the way, I don't like the stereotype that everybody in band is a "band geek" because it's not true, especially when my definition is used to describe band geeks. There are people that fit into that stereotype, but then there's people like me, and then there's people who hate band and they're forced to take it.
