It's not that the AK74u is overpowered, most of the other smgs are simply underpowered. AK74u is the best smg, but that doesn't mean it should be nerfed or anything. If you nerfed the AK74u, then another gun will be considered overpowered and people will complaing about THAT gun.

I used to think that it was because back in WaW and especially Modern Warfare 2, I used to always go negative unless I was using the MP40 or UMP. Same situation in Black Ops with the AK74u, but then I started using other guns like the AK47 and the MPL, for example, and I started to do well using those.

I heard that there's more recoil in BOps than there was in MW2. It's not that it takes more rounds to kill someone, it's just that more rounds miss your target. I never played enough MW2 to confirm this myself. I absolutely hated that game's multiplayer.

That depends on your connection and everything.
Also that second chance perk is the most annoying perk ever. I hate it when people go into God Mode when they're falling down and just end up knifing you. It really gets annoying when your sniping.

While that may be partially true, I am inclined to disagree. the rest of the Smg's are all great at what they do - CQC situations. The 74u on the other hand, can also handle the mid-range firefight. Guns such as the MPL and spectre are far from underpowered, and can most certainly be used effectively.
I use the ak74u, Its my baby. With that gun in close quarters it takes me like 2 or 3 shots to kill someone. In mid range for example, from sandbag to sandbag in firing range it takes me about 5 shots.
The ak74u is THE BEST smg on this game, maybe gun overall.
in zombies it sucks unless your close to the outline (where you can get more ammo) but even if you are you'd have to give it up sometime since of the low damage and small magazine
Well the AK 74 has the same stats as most submachine guns. I used it as an assualt rifle more than an SMG, but it's always fun to rush with it. I don't think that the gun itself is overpowered, but the overuse inclines for people to think it is.
