Just (I think) announced by Tod Howard at the Spike Video Game Awards!!!
The video seems to tell of the return of the Dragons, and someone called "The Dragon Born". You should have acted. They're already here. The Elder Scrolls told of their return. Their defeat was merely delay Til the time after Oblivion opened. When the sons of Skyrim would spill their own blood But no-one wanted to believe. Believe they even existed. And when the truth finally dawns: It dawns in fire. But. There's one they fear. In their tongue, he's Novak'leen Dragon Born!
hehehehehehh i hope they co-op lik ethey planned because that would be sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo awesome im gonna get it for the 360 just because my pc is ghetto but its gonna be soooooooooooooo sweat
Just FYI, Oblivion is NOT an 'oddball' as Oblivion is a plane of existence, ergo a location, just like the 3 preceding TES installments, as well as the new one. /pedantic
Oh, and I guess since it's coming out in Nov of next year I'll be invisible around here from then until sometime after Christmas (at least!)
Here you can listen to the newest Bethesda podcast where Todd talks someabout, but not the contents... BUT, February's issue of Game Informer (which will be out early to mid January) will disclose what Todd hopes to be ALOT about the game. As heard in the podcast Todd sais that they let Game Informer see alot, and that he hopes we are surprised with all they show.
Looks, like a movie trailer. I hope that this Elder Scrolls won't have so much reading in it. Not that I hate reading, but after a while it really slows down gameplay. More voice acting would have been nice.

Didn't every NPC in Oblivion have voice acting? There are people who want RPG to revert back to the old school all text, and I wouldn't mind, as I can read much faster than the NPCs talk... Have you played Morrowind? Just asking because it was 98.8% text. The only voice acting was basically the main quest combined with peoples random greetings and battle shouts. You N'wah!!!
If they do have even more voice acting, then they better not blow all their money on 14 ... 14 people voicing every character in Oblivion was god-awful. Really the only people who stood out were Uriel Septim VII, Martin Septim, and Mankar Camoran, and of course......SHEOGORATH!!!

Where's your sense of interactivity? O_o Reading while in a game immerses yourself in the game for more enjoyment! Oblivion had nearly all dialogue voice acted, and Morrowind had slim voice parts. Daggerfall had only the cinematic for voice. That and two words: "VENGEANCE!" and "HALT!!"
I personally don't want voice acting and instead have text to read with the only voices being battlecries and signs of pain. Leave voice acting in movies and intense action games. Some games just don't work well for voice acting. Some parts of Oblivion are good, while most are not. Remember the High Elf in Oblivion that had emotionless screaming? "RUN WHILE YOU CAAAAN!" With a totally straight face? If you're going to put voice acting in your games, make sure the criteria for voice acting in the games fit.

Lol... I remember that. Multiple voices all shouting halt while you run away with a bag full of swag from a shop. Good times.

Totally agree. Some of the actual voice acting was good but after a while you realise how dead oblivion really is. Noone darn well does anything.

You didnt have to read much in morrowind or oblivion if you didnt want to.
