That is off the NASA website, anyone understand it?
penumbral eclipse.... think of it like a bulls eye on a target... dead center is pitch black and the next outer ring is a shade of grey... the shade of grey doesn't blot out the moon... it merely makes it noticeably darker.
partial = when blotting out starts total = when its fully dark greatest eclipse = as close to dead center as its going to get (still black) total ends= the reverse of the moon getting darker and darker...beginning of the end penumbral ends = goes from darker shade to normal
I checked outside in the freezing cold every hour to see if it happened. Sadly it did not. That made me a little frustrated. I really wanted to see it. Has anyone got any pictures of it? I want to search Google tomorrow to see if any pictures of it were uploaded. Now though it's 6:30AM and I need some sleep.
Yeah, I stayed up until 2 AM hoping the clouds would clear so I could see the eclipse. Stupid clouds, wouldn't move just for me. Though the clouds were a nice shade of orange, lol.
