I'm sure the Catholic Church keeps a lot of things hidden, but so does any political entity. However, the Illuminati were not some diabolical demon cult that so many think they are. And I highly doubt the mysteries are real.

if there was a clan called Illuminati, the members would be scientists (that would be the opposit of religion --> technology). and this was a sin in the late-middle ages i guess

I'm aware of the history, However I fail to see the point of your thread. You don't seem sure of anything.

You know, the Illuminati might be, I think they are real. They infiltrated the Freemasons to survive. Most theories depict big personalities being part of the Illuminati.
The Pope always keeps something hidden :P, The Vatican archives are 200km long and there's a rule, no documents will be exposed unless they have 100 years age. That rule is enforced to ensure the persons in it have died.
Also, there was the murder of the Captain of the Guards and his wife, nobody knew what exactly happened and still doesn't know[suspicious :O].

I love how the enemy of religion always seems to be science, rationality, and intelligence. It really fits the real world, don't you think?

The Vatican keeps many things hidden. Most of them involve child abuse. Maybe a rare murder or two, who knows, they are covering it up!... But definitely no Illuminati. The Illuminati simple does not exist.

Well, everyone is entitled to their opinions, but I like conspiracy theories more because it gives an athmosphere of adventure to your life and that the truth is always hidden.

Ah, opinions are not truth last I checked. I am already paranoid enough, thanks for the offer.

But these are just stories, if someone actually believes in these you could assume that there would be trouble, couldn't you?

Well, for sure we won't know that by debating on a forum xD
And I believe that the world today is kind of broken...

Well there is a Mason Lodge near main street, why not go ask them? The Free Masons are often associated with the mythical Illuminati. I bet you a dollar they will say no.

And I believe that the world today is kind of broken...

Far better than any given time in the past, isn' it?

Well, firstly in that theory it's said that they infiltrated, not joined the Freemasons.
It is broken, global warming[which will come soon], Sun activity[we are in teh Sun's normal period which means we are very lucky, if we were in it's other periods we would all be dead by nao, but it's explosions might crash all teh power networks], Nuclear Wars[North Korea and South Korea, though I doubt China would let North Korea do that] and more but can't think of em, too tired xD.

It's so frustrating to hear people say that the church is opposed to science, rationality etc. It is true that they used to be because of how the medieval mind understood things to work. However, that is changing and some wonderful science comes from people who belong to the church . But to say that the current Pope is opposed to science is incredibly ignorant. I'm not Catholic, however, I do know that they are only opposed to science that is morally questionable, and I can get behind that. They're not saying that one can't move forward at all. But how much knowledge do we REALLY need lest we lose our humanity?

I believe the word I used was "associated with", meaning that they are involved with some how.

global warming[which will come soon]

Going on for thousands of years slowly, what is the problem?

Sun activity[we are in teh Sun's normal period which means we are very lucky, if we were in it's other periods we would all be dead by nao, but it's explosions might crash all teh power networks

What? I don't think that was English, have you been watching to much T.V? What I got out of that is "The sun is normal", which last I checked did not involve earth and was a good thing...

Nuclear Wars[North Korea and South Korea, though I doubt China would let North Korea do that]

That isn't happening, so what is the problem here?

In fact, the only one that is happening at all is Global warming, and if anything that is just sped up from what it was when we had Sabre tooth tigers running around, and not a real threat until another age.

Now lets look at all the good things we have compared to the make believe bad: The internet, the ability to fly long distances without trouble, space travel, advanced satellite technology, touch screen cellphones, food, and the ability to lounge about instead of working our whatevers off as almost all our ancestors had to do. We have had it a lot better than any other generation I can think of.

If you want false adventure I recommend playing an RPG.

And I believe that the world today is kind of broken...
