Look how much this single game has changed over just 8 years! I bought Fable 1 and thought I was gonna love it forever. Then Fables 2 and 3 came out and made the first look like asteroids. Anything else to add?
In my opinion, NOTHING is better than Fable: the lost chapters. i loved the crossbows and all stuff like that. I hated Fable 2, mainly because they didnt bring in crossbows. I dont really like Fable 3 mainly because i beat the game in 7 hours. Fable 3 isnt horrible, but i expected much, much more from it... When i think of Fable, i think of a medieval game with armour and sword fights, killing bandits and slaying hobbes. With Fable 3, its too modern with the factories and the guns. I hated the idea of guns replacing bows and arrows. I dont think that factories and revolutions fit in with Fable. Its just my opinion and most people disagree with me but wutevr.
I, too, think The Lost Chapters is the best Fable game to date, but that doesn't mean I didn't like the others. Quite the opposite, they're all some of my favourite games.
However, I do hope Lionhead takes it's time to make Fable IV. Fable III didn't seem like a very big improvement to Fable II. In fact, it looked like the same game, with a different story. It felt more like an expansion than a sequel. I am, of course, looking forward to Fable IV, but I hope they don't rush it.
I certainly hope that Fable IV will be like a combination of the original Fable with Fable III. I would LOVE to see more adventuring options and a longer main quest line. Also, free choice of expressions needs to be brought back.
I've played Fable I and II, and both were really good. However I'm thinking of buying Fable III, but should I really. If it's just an expansion (of sorts) of Fable II what'd be the point.
I love Fable 1 and Fable 2, but Fable 3 was a giant let down. I hope 4 and five go farther back to more medieval times with armor, and bows. I think that'd be a lot better then the modern turn.
Fable 1, 2, and 3 are good games with their own disappointments. I kind of wish you weren't required to trade weapons with other people online to get everything, especailly since I wanted Jack's Hammer pretty bad. >.<
The biggest let down from Fable 3, in my opinion, is that there was no transition from good to evil like in the other two games. Either you had the angel wings, or the demon wings. There was no transition between the two at all. I also enjoyed how Fable 2 actually allowed your character to morph depending on a number of different alignments.
I bought Fable from the xbox Marketplace. Please, do not buy this game from there! It's not the Lost Chapters. I know, wtf?
I think people liked Fable I more because of the style. Fable I was folklore, Fable II was King Arthur and Robin Hood, and then Fable III was monarchs and rebels. Fable I, by that sounds pretty dull but it was very well done and being the first of the series, new, exciting and just... "there". Every thing fine tuned into it, in my opinion, and I love it.
Also, no guarantees on Fables IV and V, just saying they want it to happen <3 - H
I love the Fable series. The concept of the game is great, though I realize people have different opinions on how they carried it out. I know I will get then next one, and then the next and so on, when it comes out.
