I was reading an article a while ago (sorry, I cant find it anymore) and it was talking about how apple doesn't like flash and prefers html5. What does apple have against flash?

Its because Apple is stupid, and they hate anything MS is involved in.

Guys, you are acting like there is no way to get flash. If you have a ipod 3G and a iPhone 3GS and up, you can jailbreak and get something called frash. It has full flash support with no lag.

That is true but isn't it technically illegal to do so?
Besides, the main question is why doesn't apple like flash or support it by default?

No, jailbreaking is no longer illegal. It just voids your warranty

I think my previous post answered that question

The reason the dont support flash is because that would eliminate the whole use of the appstore, I mean if the iphone had flash there would be no point in the appstore, they wouldent make enough money.

Actually they also at one point started removing a lot of apps from the app store that used flash in the first place outside of ones made by well known developers, so I doubt that.

I would assume it would be as much as file sharing and torrenting copyrighted material for free would be.

Well if flash worked with apple

That actually already happened when they basically had to beg Adobe to get their products available on Mac's at one point if I remember correctly, as well as when the newest version of Flash(CS5) came out with a new tool to turn flash files into Iphone apps more easily(though it ended up getting released around the time that Apple started white washing their app store which seemed kind of awkward in my mind)

Basically I remember hearing about this when I frequented Digg(before v4.0 when it was filled with Apple fan boys). From what I have read from articles that were posted there concerning the issue, Steve Jobs said that they wanted to push for better standards and that HTML5 is the future, and that we should do away with Flash to make room for the new standard in web browsing apps(or something along those lines, it has been awhile since all this started)Anyways thats the only explanation I can give right now without going back and citing the actual interviews, and articles that I read on the topic.

True, but didn't it have to be written in the app language?

Oh yeah...
