It probally won't. These are recources that will one day become more and more scarcel. When Supply lowers, and demand goed up, so will price.

The gas price is almost guaranteed to climb, exponentionally, because the suppy is getting lower and the demand is getting higher.

That being said, however, if the world were to switch to alternate energy sources, than gas wouldn't have to raise prices, because demand is gone...

And that means no more gas at all. Although, water's getting a problem too

Sure they can. If you can

A. Change the supply to a higher amount, by either finding a way to produce it with mercenary, finding a good amount of it in an easily accessible place, or any other form of getting more gas.

B. Lower the demand, if everyone stopped using gas it would begin selling for a lower price.

I for one am hoping for us to create a machine that can turn materials into gas...

We can also say 'no' to big government spending so there's less need to raise taxes on gasoline. ; )

Although, water's getting a problem too

Yeah, we're running out of water. We're nearly bone dry!

Yeah. Already 1/3 or so of the Earth is now land! We must stop this before it is to late!

I also wish to add that some kind of ethanol are already functional, so I have heard, it would not be to much of a jump to turn corn into a decent fuel.

Unless everybody stops using normal cars and start using electric ones, no. The more normal cars we have the higher the price for gasoline.

So true. My country is running out of water fast. Not just drinking water, tape water too.

The only reason water is gettin to be a problem is because of (what some think is a theory, but i think it's already proven) global warming.
I think that one day gas will just be gone and then comes a great downfall in which after 10000000 years someone picks up a picture of a horse drawn carridge and they'll say "whatever happened to that?".
Then we'll go through the same motions agian but this time when we find fuel it isn't oil but instead it's some other non-replenishing ****.

How is global warming making water a problem?

Like what non-replenishing substance?

The way it's making water a problem is we get most of our fresh water from icebergs but since it is melting and mixing with the salt water it's becoming useless.
Like what non-replenishing substance?

I dunno but i do know is that we'll find one cause we're too stubron to use a replenishing resource.

Water isn't a dam problem. It will be in poor countries, but in places where governments can afford it, they can always place water filters that would change see/ocean water into drinkable water. Those filters should come out in around 2050. Well, as I have read.

Gas? Well technically it shouldn't. But if one day the electricity market gets the better of gas, then maybe gas will lose popularity (so price) before it actually disappears.

They DO have filters but most people don't live near water and it takes too much time (as an american would respond) to make it worth it.
And gas is a BIG buisness so gas will have to be COMPLETLY gone before they even THINK of switching to eliectric.

Not really. Electric cars are already on the go. And we are making or planing, alternatives for plastic and stuff from oil.

For now, that is true, but once it will be vital, humanity will find a way.
