So u know how people keep glitching or hacking or glitching in colony. Well how about krin chooses a groupd of people to be glitch and hack police. so everytime someone will glitch they will tell the hack glitch police then they will have to show proof that they were hacking. I got the ideo from this game called power soccer. every time someone cheats or hack they rport to the admins gives proof and they bann them. how about u u get 4 bannes ur kicked. So people will stop glitching or hacking.

ThemPRangers, I always thought you were a cheater, but this thread changed my opinion on you. Krin could appoint police on Colony, but then it will end up like Krinlabs before it died. The staff became corrupted with power, and used their power on those who they didn't like. I admit I constantly put oil on my fire, but it was with good reason. The only thing that can be done is contact Krin with specific details on what's going on. If you can't contact him, get the staff of AG to forward your messenge to him.

There should just be moderators. .swf files are far too easy to hack. Change one line of code and you already alter the game.

Krin needs to get a small group forum moderators to elect Colony moderators.

Kevin, Colony Mods. would never work. Like I said up above, when you give people power they will abuse it.

Sorry pop-up came up and clicked submit by accident.

Kevin, Colony Mods. would never work. Like I said up above, when you give people power they will abuse it. All you can do is rely on the community. If you have the passion for Colony like Me and Godjule (the only two honor-based players I know of) then you can help stop the cheating. I am researching the various bugs, and finding possible cures for them. Your thinking how am I able to do this, well I asked around for a copy of the .as files of Colony v6.1. I have been looking at the files for about 3 weeks and found cures for most bugs, but not all. I still am working on the resouce(null) bug right now that is plagueing the playerbase.

Perhaps we could get the mods in on it since colony does have AG login now.

power corrupts. The only way this idea could work is if people that played colony a lot that are active in trying to change it are moderators that play the game alot, like YOS, but they'd have to be ones who were heavily involved in playing and the community so that AG could know that they can be trusted, and if AG recieved reports of the mods being corrupt or abusing their power, AG could cancel their mod status

I trust the AG staff to help on the issue but I don't think it would last.

Oh heavens, with the small number we have? I think it's best if they stayed community mods and instead created a built system that targets hackers :P

Or you could just report them! That always helps. Not too many people do it nowadays--they just say "U HAX!" and move on. Seriously, the active players to active hackers ratio is like...thousands to one. If but a couple dozen contributed actively reported those that hacked, there wouldn't be much of a problem with it.

Freakenstein ur right if people (a couple dozen like u said)actually reported people then there would be not really any problem

The problem with most of the community is most of them don't know the difference between a hack and a glitch. Plus, 68% (possibly 80%) of the current community glitch to win.

80% of the entire Colony community glitch to win....I don't know about that. I'd also love to know where you're getting these statistics from. I find it hard to believe that most of the entire community glitch or hack.

The problem with most of the community is most of them don't know the difference between a hack and a glitch.

Deliberate manipulation of code and a method to fluff up the code are two different things, things that produce different results. An instant win or infinite resources can be hacks. A unit somehow missing attacks or not taking damage can be the result of a glitch. I'd much rather report the hackers (ones that are obvious to see) than the glitchers because the former is a result of manipulation, whereas the glitches are the result of a flaw in code.

You clearly don't play Colony enough to know whats being used.

Current Problem Hacks:

OmniBase (allows user to use all the bases including yours, this can be annoying becuase these guys stop production and make nonuseable buildings.

InstaWin (name says it all)

Rank-Breaker (allows the user to change there rank, this is really easy to spot thanks to the current rank limit is 10 but hackers make thier rank above this)

InfiniteResource (name says it all)

1Second (allows the user to produce objects in 1 second)

Current Problem Glitches:

Resource/Null (allows a user to cancel a command and get more then its cost back as a refund, this is the most common exploited glitch)

Restriction (allows a user to produce things that aren't allowed in the game type)

Font (allows a user to change their chat-font color in a match)

Dual-Weapon (allows a user to hit the base with the anti-air weapon, this is hard to pull of ingame because the conditions are hard to meet)

OnmiHit (allows a user to hit any unit, this happens after the base is down)

There are others, they aren't a problem right now.
