I would like to find out which Maidens of Music the AG'ers find most attractive. if someone thinks that this isn't fair (maybe a female AG'er...or someone of different interests than myself) then feel free to say who u think is the most attractive singer/musician u know of...

I'm curious to see if people listen to some bands just simply b/c they've fallen in love w/ the figure head (usually the lead singer) rather then their actual voice.

a few of the lovely ladies I listen to are

Simone Simons :3...epic red head (she's not a true red head.. but i don't care) (Epica lead singer...and is featured with other bands)

Tarja Turunnen (ex nightwish female vocalist)

Inga Scharf (Van Canto's female vocalist)

I fell for Simone when I saw what she looked like and after having watched some interviews where she acts goofy and seems really sweet.. I had listened to Epica prior to having seen what Simone looked like and was like "meh" but afterwards I found myself more like ..\\m/_...

Tarja is another very flashy tight body suit kinda gal (simone's inspiration :-P)... but I really liked her operatic metal stuff before having seen that she's quite the looker

Now Inga is slightly different... she seems to be less flashy then the other two. I had originally seen a picture of her on one of the cover pictures of a youtube vid and was like "meh... not so pretty"... then i listened to her and an interview or two and I now have her in the same epic tier as Simone and Tarja.

If you'd like to make this into somewhat of a social experiment and do as I did with my list then please do... but if you'd just like to tell us who u think are the most attractive singers out there (not just metal.... i just have a bias towards it...) then feel free

*honorable mention*
Sharon of Within Temptation (thanks Mr. Daycee)

As for Korean girls, let's just say a lot of plastic surgery involved.

You're helping a bunch of bad memories resurface.

ummmmm that holographic maiden is the scariest...... most disorienting.... most intriguing thing i ever saw..............

I think being slapped in the face is scarier.

I'll pay attention to the thread's name and post an excellent addition to this Metal Maidens topic!

Ever heard of the Iron Maidens?!

A short text I copied from the 'Metal Monday Amoeblog':

Los Angeles, CA hard rock band The Iron Maidens are, as they fairly claim, "the world's only female tribute band to Iron Maiden." But they are also most proficient and accomplished musicians, who not only do justice to their heavy metal heroes, but also add a new lease on life to the veteran UK metal band whose music they've been avidly honoring since they formed eight years ago.

They've even recently recorded and released a kick-*** CD/DVD set of Iron Maiden songs. titled Route 666 (a nod to Flight 666). The original Iron Maiden-esque cover art of a female monster is done by Derek Riggs, creator of Iron Maidenâs mascot, Eddie, and numerous signature Iron Maiden album covers familiar to any Maiden fan.

The five member group, comprised of women with diversified musical backgrounds ranging from orchestral and musical theater to blues and rock, is comprised of Linda âNikki McBURRainâ McDonald on drums, Sara âMiniMurrayâ Marsh and Courtney âAdriana Smithâ Cox on guitars, Kirsten âBruce Chickinsonâ Rosenberg on vocals, and Wanda "Steph Harris" Ortiz on bass.

Hard rocking and hard working, the band's busy upcoming schedule includes playing an all ages show at the Trevi Entertainment Center in Lake Elsinore, CA tomorrow, Second Wind in Santee, CA on Thursday, The Key Club in Hollywood on August 12th, the The VooDoo Lounge in San Jose on August 14th, and Annie's Social Club on Folsom in SF on August 15th. Fresh back from a Saturday night gig in Kansas, I caught up with the band yesterday to talk about, among other things, Iron Maiden's music, the difference between a tribute and a cover band, and being women in a male dominated field. The interview, which the band members collectively answered in true democratic fashion as a unit, follows below the video clip of the band performing "Revelations" at Cane's in San Diego last month. For more info on the Iron Maidens visit their official website or their MySpace.

Thanks MrDayC, I agree that Iron Maidens rock and I had never heard of them until you mentioned them here. I only had to listen to the first verse of "Run to the Hills", that happens to be my favorite from the original Iron Maiden, to be impressed!

They DO have a great sound! Something that could be discribed as the 'female clone to Iron Maiden'! They play and sound almost the same as the originals, but with the obvious difference of hearing their female voices, of course... =P
