Hey guys, I wanted to predict the NFL playoffs this year, so I'm gonna start my own thread and keep this going up until the Super Bowl. You are welcome to post your own picks here if you want, or just discuss the playoffs in general!
Wild Card Round (Jan 8-9): (I predict scores too, they're probably way off though. Just pay attention to my winner picks.)
.... i THINK there is almost no real consistency in the league..... seriously everything just seems random.... no one team can hold onto watever streak they may be holding wat i mean... well the "big name" teams that win and win just simply loose to the WORST teams at random... it makes no sense to me.... i dont really want to go into detail about that, p.s. i have been a pats fan for years so yes im in a bad mood, anddddd i can now FULL HEARTEDLY say i hate Bill Belichick.... good caoch but he has noooooooooooooooooo guts(for lack of a better word).... i have litteraly seen a pats 4th and INCHES and he tells them to punt..... in opponents territory no less.... anyway i think the packers are gonna take it this year, i dont like them but they have heart anddddd they deserve it..
I predict that next week the Bears will win over the Packers... hopefully. Also its kinda fun to see what you guys predicted earlier, like the saints crushing the seahawks which was way off
The Steelers definitely have the edge over the Jets. I wouldn't be surprised if the Jets won, but I think Pittsburgh will win. As for Green Bay vs. Chicago, that is much harder to predict. They are both good teams, and they seem to be very evenly matched. However, I agree with you Maverick, Green Bay will probably win due to Aaron Rodgers being a better quarterback than Jay Cutler.
Well, Chicago's problem is that they don't know how to finish. Their D was fresh today, and they let the Seahawks score 28 points in the endgame. You can't do that with an opponent like Greenbay, and expect to win. And the fact that Greenbay has great QB/RB/WRs. Greg Jennings is a deep threat, and Chicago will have to stop him if they want to win.
On the other hand, Chicago has really good secondaries. They make you work for every pass, and they only give up one or two big plays. Of course, playing harder means you get more flags. I think they got two or three pass interference flags.
Ultimately, I'll think it'll boil down to who can maintain an explosive offense, and not give up big plays on defense. It'll be a really good and close game.
Jets won!!! I don't believe it. I didn't have time to post until now since I was at a party, but I never have faith in the Jets, and they're my favorite team. And they always seem to win in the big games. However, Pittsburgh is very tough, and the road to the super bowl is going to be bumpy. So here's my Championship predictions:
Packers over Bears - This was probably the most tough pick to make because they're both incredibly balanced teams, but I think that the Packers will win this game. both teams have great QB's, Packers have a better receiving core, Bears have a better running game, but The Packers secondary is a lot better than the Bears' secondary, and the corners and safeties are the key to stopping QB's like Cutler, who throws a lot. I think the Bears pass rushing is better, as well as run defense, but Charles Woodson and the other guy (don't remember his name) will stop Cutler. I also think that Mike McCarthy is smarter than Lovie Smith with offense, but Lovie is a smarter defensive coach.
Steelers over Jets - This was a pretty tough one too. But I personally think that Pittsburgh is the better team. Big Ben is probably superior to Mark Sanchez. Running backs are pretty even, though Mendenhall is good at plowing over people, which is scary. Receiving core is even, I think, and Steelers run defense is better, but I think that it comes down to one player: Troy Polamalu. I'm not sure whether he's healthy or not, but if he is, the Jets have a bad chance of making it to the Super Bowl. I also think that the coaching is pretty even.
Im 5-3 now and diehard jets all the way Jets can beat any team in the league home or away, because the beat the best team in the NFL, in Foxboro.
We made Brady cry because we sacked him 5 times and got a pick. So with that:
JETS over Steelers
GREEN BAY over Bears
And if you want to count this:
AFC over NFC
By no means is the jet game saturday going to be an easy one, for they have the best run defense in the league. I would of rather play the Ravens because you can run on them. Puff Hair is back and that will be something we will need to work around
BRIAN SCHOTENHEIMER IS A MORON!!!!
When your a team that can run the ball well like the JETS can, why PASS on 1st down?
Run first to get 5. 2nd and 5 rush agian! If that dosent give you the first then run agian or choose a SMART pass play. Every game I yel at this guy because his stupidity is amazing. A pop warner coach can call better plays then this guy!
You are very biased.Just because you beat one great team in their city doesn't mean you can beat anyone. The Packers Steelers and Bears have proven they can beat anyone. You Jets people think you guys are so great but your just good in the playoffs not the regular season.
