I'm curious to find out your opinions. Do you see a future for holograms? or do you think its just a trivial thing that may phase itself out eventually? ....in the past, holograms were a thing of dreams. now they're here, and in use.
i don't think this will be a very heated discussion... but what are your thoughts?
...the voice in the song is supposedly 100% computer generated... just a fyi there
i wanted to know everyone else's opinion on the usage and practicality of the technology in everyday life.
It could become extremely practical. For those who may not have looked at the link, the guy says that in busy hospitals there are hundreds of people walking around with potential to spread germs. Imagine a holographic light switch. No real touching means no spreading of germs. And they can simulate touch by using sound waves. So we could have holographic taps and doorhandles etc...
Also I do think it will replace telephones as a kind of video communication but this being widespread wont happen for at least a decade or two.
What about actors? They could get a "virtual facelift" on the big screen by using holograms to cover wrinkles and other "blemishes"
Now thats a skary thought. How would you know whats real on tv etc. Pretty cool idea tho
what purpose do they serve? They're pretty darn awesome, and can be fun as a joke or trick, or to show an image to someone. Really, they are a bit pointless otherwise, come to think of it.
I understand how they work. They use visible light. How does the air absorb some of the colours and reflect the others? Also, how does the light not just keep going?
Master of Disguise, right? I seriously couldn't believe that there were holograms that actually worked in real life. They're kind of cool and may be the future of tv.
