I am not sure if this is the right section but I think it is.
What do you users think of Firefox 4 or Firefox in general. Apparently it is the number one browser in the world. Some people disagree, some people think "FIREFOX FTW!!! WOOT!!!!!"
I have Firefox 4 and think it is fine. What browsers do you use, some use Google Chrome, some use IE. So, what do you think.
It is simple. All that's extra on it is the add-ons and themes. That's about it. I prefer it over any other web browser. And I've tried just about all of them and none compare to Firefox except for Google Chrome but I just don't like how it's set up.
Look at the ratings According to that Firefox and Google Chrome are just about the same. But I prefer the layout on Firefox. Google Chrome is good for it's start-up speed and bigger screen space. But if you look at the ratings they're the same.
from what I've heard, google chrome is supposed to be the fastest browser out there
If you look at the chart they're basically the same speed, except for the start up time.
Google Chrome is actually slower and more prone to viruses.
No it's not. The start up time is faster but the browsing around is the same. I agree on the more prone to viruses part though. I actually think I got a virus from surfing around the internet with it. I was on Google Chrome then closed the browser then BAM! hit with a virus.
From what I've heard around from most people they don't like the beta because of it's design. They say it looks ugly and should stay how it is on Firefox 3.6. Well I wouldn't know. I couldn't download it. But I will when it actually comes out.
I switched to FF4 and love it. Only things I have problems with is that switching tabs seems a bit sluggish, and that multiple tabs shows up as separate windows in Win7.
I've tried the beta for FF4, but after a while of dealing with addon incompatibilities I'm back to 3.6. Not that that's anything against 4, I'll definitely be using it when it's released. It was noticeably faster than 3.6 on both startup and page load, and it gives you even more UI customization that I wasn't really expecting. It does seem a little minimalist, and a little too clean. I rather prefer 3.6's design. But I'm sure I'll get used to it.
I tried Firefox 4 beta, and i don't like it so much. I use Firefox 3.6 for facebook, and Opera for Gmail and random internet use, because it has split tab ability, and it has more gadges than Fox
In response to some of those with incompatibility issues, Firefox B4.12 is a heckuva lot better than when it was first open to the public, which was... 4.08? The add-ons I use, such as FlashBlock and that one copy feature, are working, and the browser is MUCH less prone to crashing.
Im using IE 9 right now. It hasn't officialy been released, but it is awsome. I think that firefox is too clutered. IE 9 has a fast and sleek appearence.
Compared the 3.6, the layout is different, but has a better appeal. Little was removed and added, but that's what made this update better. When you look at a link, a small bar pops up, instead of having that extra bar as big as the Start toolbar appear all the time.
I personally think Chrome overall is the best browser
The new FF4 has an address bar and a search bar. There is no point for that because you can search using the address bar itself. The Chrome Omni-bar owns Firefox's Awesome-bar in terms of functionality. You can argue that the extra Firefox 4 Search bar lets you use multiple search engines, but Chrome can have multiple searches in its Omni-bar by just typing the web domain and pressing tab. You now see that most internet browsers are copying Chrome's layout which you can see in both Firefox 4 and IE7+. Chrome revolutionized the sleek and smooth dragging and switching of tabs. C You can argue that Firefox is better due to its multiple addons but Chrome just launched their Webstore and I have already seen most of the addons I used when I was using Firefox now on the Webstore. Chrome is undoubtedly the fastest browser out there. The "new tab" page on Chrome is also one of a kind. Sure, you can get an add on in Firefox to do the same thing there, but another addon means slower browser and more time to launch browser.
Firefox takes a few seconds to launch the first time. It also takes a bit less time to launch after that. Chrome launches fast the first time and opens instantly after you launch it anytime after that
Chrome was built on Firefox's mistakes. The people at Google saw what add ons were the most downloaded when using Firefox and then built a faster, sleeker browser with all that in built (eg. Download Statusbar, greasemonkey). Chrome has an inbuilt download bar and it saves the tabs you closed last time whether you want to see the tabs or not.
