Alright, I will be on sporadically today, I have an irl game I'm preparing, and I am using one of the deadliest dungeons I've ever seen, "Rappan Athuk: The Dungeon of Graves". I heard Dragon and DBS are in cahoots, so apparently Dragon will be able to post DBS's turn, so let's continue, shall we? It's turn 2, and so far Demetrius and Holly are attacking again, correct?

Also, Sirnoobs, as soon as you finish the character update, post it, and I will try to get you involved right after this combat, which should be over pretty soon. (Crona and Dallic did really good)

I will post Dibs's action when he replies to me.

Demetrius keeps attacking unless otherwise specified.

Well, I'm back, I was out of town and then I watched some Dukes of Hazzard, so let's get the turn over with.

Turn 2 *Sound of dice rolling*
Holly attacks and misses the gargoyle, Senior Temple Guard hold, Lorethel takes a 5-ft step back and strikes another gargoyle with call lightning (16 damage), Demetrius strikes, but misses and has no effect, Fenris hits for little effect (3 damage), Crona takes a 5-ft step back and casts Inflict Mod Mass, which deals enough damage to wipe out half of the gargoyles in one fell swoop (18 damage, 3 gargoyles dead), the remaining 2 gargoyles are retreating, so the Senior Temple Guard finish them off with their Longbows (22 damage to one, 18 to the other)

VICTORY!!! You each gain 2000 exp. The fort is just up ahead, what are you going to do now?

Say Sirnoobs, I was wondering if you were interested in running a game after the storm giant is killed. Cause I was thinking of starting a 5th game, with low-level characters, and leaving someone to run this game. Of course, it cold take quite a while to actually kill the storm giant, so no hurry. Also, is the ninja done yet?

I'll save you all the trouble and decline that; I have no material, no way to download a module-type thing and probably the least experience of everyone here. It would suck, to put it nicely.
And no, storm's messing up internet all night so I haven't been able to work on the ninja.

Noobs, you have more experience than I do and you have all the same resources. If you need any help, the others have helped me and I have no doubt they would do the same for you.

I played 1 IRL game and at the beginning of the 2nd battle I SOMEHOW managed to drown in 1.5 inches of water in a fountain. Your argument is invalid.

Noobs, I have never played in real life. Your argument is invalid. Just DM the **** game. Could you at least do it for me?

Honestly, it would suck and I personally have no interest in DMing right now. The only possible applicable experience would maybe be all the RPGs I've made, and that would requre I tear the world into a few pieces and resew it back together.

...I think that qualifies as experience. Consider this, Dragon had never played D&D before, and he's doing pretty good. He makes a fine DM, even considering he has little to no real experience. btw, HOW exactly how did you drown in a fountain, someone drop something/one on you, or were you with a bunch of older players who decided t "break in" the newb? Trust me, older, more experienced players like to break in kids and newbs by killing off their characters or totally screwing them over. I remember the first time I played with a real group, and what happened to me was a rendition of Joseph from the bible, QUITE LITERALLY! Only difference is, I ended up dead, not pharaoh of Egypt, so... yeah, totally opposite outcome there. I was 7, and I got mad, but mostly cause my character died, the rest of it was kinda whatever for me, and the only reason I died was cause I rolled really badly. I always found being DM more fun than just being a player in a game, and yo never know, being Dm could be a pleasurable experience for you Noobs.

Yeah. At least give it a try.

Really? Thanks a lot. I thought I was going just a bit too hard on them. I sent level 1s against a Minotaur and at level four, I'm about to send them in an area where the lowest CR is 5 and the highest is 8.

You never can really go by what the the CR's say, It's always based on the capabilities of the party. If you think that throwing stronger monsters at them will challenge them, do it, but if you don't think they can handle it, maybe hold back a little, and revamp it or tweak it cause ultimately it's all about having fun. I have very rarely killed off characters, and those were situations that couldn't be helped, but if your players make stupid mistakes, and those mistakes get their character killed, then that's it, make them roll up a new one.

Sirnoobs, I think you could be a pretty good DM, all you really need to know is how the system works, then you set up the scene, run your minions, keep track of everything, and remember that when in doubt, let the dice decide. The goal is to make it fun for the players, and if you end up having fun too, it's usually twice as good. I take my gaming seriously, but that doesn't mean I'm always serious, in fact I take it seriously because it's more fun that way to me, and that is what makes it worthwhile.
