Basically, DB had a bunch of magic weapons. Dibs convinced him to sell all but Vrocshar. Then, Vrocshar got stuck in slime. Through some miscommunication, DB solved how to free Vrocshar but Dibs though he didn't, so Vrocshar was broken. Immediately afterward, prices in EVERYTHING skyrocketed(it's an extremely stupid recession) so DB couldn't get the sword fixed, so he is weaponless. And as far as the recession goes, Dibs removed all the money we earned during your tenure as DM, then bull****ted about why it was gone. So we have next to no money(it was like 12k for everyone except the elves, who didn't earn it of their own choice they made), and prices are extremely high(as in 3x), so we really can't buy anything. And as far as the party alignment goes...the party is basically Neutral or Chaotic Good. I wanted an assassin, but one that's more like a soldier than a hitman, so I asked Dibs if he could be lawful neutral, and he said I could. Later, he said I couldn't. And he brought in a Disciple of Asmodeus in the middle of a good party, and started giving him all these impossibly powerful "contacts" and stuff, but nobody else gets any contacts. As far as splitting the party...I was playing in-character, and my character hates pretty much every other human being, so when they went on vacation, I had my char protest. I didn't expect him to let me stay behind if it was a campaign thing, but he did. I suggested bringing in another character(a monk) while my assassin was gone, but he shot that down(because there's no "hole" for a monk...) and said he already had plans in case one of us stayed behind. I suggested reuniting us, that was also a no. But I think you already saw that part.
So, based on your rant Hyper, he's guilty of favortism, being too stingy with treasure and jackingup the prices way too high for NO **** reason, creating his own special, most likely unkillable character who has contacts to screw over the party or force you to do what he wants, failure to admit his own mistakes, (I actually had the same idea for non-evil Assassin, we called it a Guild Assassin, who only killed enemies to the king/country or whatever) and having no "hole"? Did I cover everything there?

Well, he did say that the depression was part of the story, but I still think it's stupid.

This part, it seems to be right, although he hasn't really pressured us, to his credit.

He likes to think he has plans, he tells you he has plans so it seems like he's actually competent, but he's just biding his time so he can come up with something. I see right through him...

I saw that somewhere, it was called an Avenger and (imo) it was very underpowered

Logic behind the depression was poor if there at all. Not trying to put him down, but it was. A depression apparently made cheap labor costs higher, somehow, when anybody would do anything to get some money in their pocket if it was semi-real.....
Seems like it.
I'll put emphasis on the lack of treasure from previous endeavours.
Should be done with the Warmage within the hour (Spontaneous Spellcaster FTW!)
Noobs, Spontaneous Spellcaster with armor and a sword! **** The What! (when I first saw ftw way back when, I actually thought it meant **** the what.....ifail......)

The Guild Assassin is just an assassin who could be non-evil, and can only assassinate monsters or his query/target/mark/whatever you want to call someone who's gonna die horribly!

He could've said it was because some guy is a fat baron who likes to hoard his wealth, so the town suffers as a result, but he didn't consider that inflation doesn't mean EVERYTHING is more expensive. like you said, slave labor is actually cheaper when money is tight.

Don't forget, Warmages are also well-known rageaholics! (Remember Siber, my Warmage? He got a little crazy when he went into combat)

Said something about a war, too, which made no sense that the war could negatively affect the economy yet the party had never heard of it....

Hyper is absolutely right about the jobs, but if you recall, a war can also tax resources, cause industry is devoted to the effort, so actually weapons would be in high supply, especially in the aftermath. If the war was not in favor of these people, then it would make sense they were suffering economically, but it sounds like DBS just gave you a half-*** excuse cause he wanted to screw your characters over...
