"Because he is going to be the topic of our conversation. He will get the opportunity to defend himself later. For now, we need to discuss this without him knowing what we are saying."
The Drow wakes up with a lot of thrashing, a long stream of profanities and casting a Fire Shield on himself. Once he gains his feet, he looks around wildly, breathing heavily and alertly looking back and forth between everyone there.
It would be a foolish decision to kill the Drow purely because of his race. The Elf has determined that he is not evil, and he has given us no reason to think otherwise. I'm not saying that we trust him, but it may be best if we allow him to proceed with us. It would be cruel of us to leave him alone on this island. He has proven himself a worthy ally thus far."
"Not now, Drow!" Demetrius snaps impatiently. "We will explain what happened later."
Back in the huddle... "I agree, but you must try to understand their reasoning. The Drow as a whole have a reputation for evil, and they have been at war with the Dwarves and the other Elves for generations."
