It's just gonna be really boring if we're pirates, that's all. I mean, seriously. Most people didn't even sign up to be pirates, they were pressed into the Royal Navy and when their ship was defeated they joined the pirates who beat them.

That's how majority of it works here also. Most of the members are forced to join when they are beaten. Either that or be killed.

No, you completely misunderstood. Compared to the Royal Navy, the pirates were the good guys. The British Royal Navy used to do this thing called "ressing". That's where these groups of thugs called "ress gangs" went around and found men in relatively good physical condition who knew at least a little bit about sailing. The press gangs beat and kidnapped those men, and took them to the British Royal Navy ships, where the pressed sailors were forced to work. The pressed sailors were very rarely paid, and if they were, it was extremely poor pay. The work was dangerous, disease was rampant, sanitation was nonexistent, and it just sucked in general. On top of that, the pressed sailors were beaten and whipped severely if they disobeyed or attempted to disobey. Most pressed sailors died within a year or two of their "recruitment". When the Royal Navy ships made port, the sailors were tied up on the ship and not even allowed to leave so that they couldn't attempt to escape. Now imagine you're a pressed sailor on a Royal Navy vessel. You are attacked by a pirate ship. These pirate ships were actually NOT interested in silver and gold, since silver and gold can't stop you from starving to death or dying of the myriad of diseases that plagued sailors back then. Anyway, the pirate ship and your Royal Navy ship go to battle, and the pirate ship ends up winning. The pirates come onboard and ask if anyone wants to join their crew. Obviously, almost every pressed sailor jumped on the idea. Fun fact: the first Marines were actually glorified press gang thugs who went along on the ship to make sure that the pressed sailors didn't escape. They're called "leathernecks" because they wore leather neck guards when they went to sleep, not to prevent the enemies from slitting their throat, but to prevent the sailors that they pressed from doing it. And so began the glorious hatred and rivalry between Marines and Sailors.

I knew that much, well not exactly all that, since Thor actually likes Pirates. I knew somethings cause despite what you might think I actually do do research sometimes.
No storyline, it's repetitive...
What uhm, what exactly do you think we'll be doing?

What were you thinking we would do? Because it seems like we'll just be attacking other ships.

I know all that because my dad was a squid for 7 years and he likes to rant about the Marine Corps every once in a while.

I wasn't even considering having you guys attacking other ships for no reason. You guys will only be out at sea part of the time. Like I said this will be more of a guild then anything.

Yeah, and what do you expect a pirate's guild to do other than pirate?

Really, whatever the hell you want to. Opportunities will arise, you can either take them or just keep moving. You could decide to help someone out of pity/goodness of your heart, or you could take one of these opportunities out of greed or any other benefits you would get.
