Some of you may or may not listen to metal. Metal is like, godsent music. (Unless it's satanic, then it would be hellsent, but hey.) What I love about metal is that you can add in almost any instrument in, and it can still sound amazing, as noted here.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iijKLHCQw5o
And that there are SO MANY kinds of metal. Thrash, Black, Death, Doom, Folk, Symphonic, Gothic, White, Power, Speed, Progressive,Neo-Classical, Industrial, Avant-garde, Viking Metal, you name it.
Some metal can be ugly though. But some is beautiful.
Peoples! Post your favorite Metal bands and videos! And if you don't like metal, just tell me why, in actual reasons, and I'll try to find a song that you MIGHT like. Okay!? YAY!!
I've gotten into post harcore lately. A bit of a branch off of metal, but it is worth looking into for something new.
Viking metal is ridiculous. I listened to it once while stoned in my frineds truck. I don't even know how to explain the awesomeness that hit my ears that day.
Agent.... Sonata Arctica does a cover of "Die with Your Boots On" ... i'm curious as to what you think about it. I've only just recently , w/in the last year or two, started listening to metal and all its subgenres (and rock music included).... and never really got into iron maiden that much... so I'm a little biased towards SA. What's ur opinion from a IM fan's perspective?
I personally listen to metal for the crazy guitar riffs and excessive double bass, but I do like a lot of heavy metal songs that start off with an acoustic riff, aka Fade to Black and a lot of other Metallica songs, or at least a melodic intro, like the 10 minute epic-fest that's A Farewell to Arms by Machine Head, or their song Halo, or even Cemetery Gates by Pantera. I also listen to straight up metal like Slayer.
There are many metal bands in the whole world [url=http://www.metal-archives.com/], if u check the Metal-Archives they have 76979 bands within these genres: Black ~ Death ~ Doom ~ Electronic ~ Folk/Viking ~ Gothic ~ Heavy/Traditional ~ Orchestral/Symphonic ~ Power ~ Progressive ~ Speed/Thrash.
"Metal for everyone"
