Welcome all Exit Pathers! This is a designated topic to have all types of convos about Exit Path. One of the purposes of this topic is to keep all conversational-type comments away from the game comments and have them here.
what is if a player , who lose a game and keeps leaving. i hate these people , who do that. if you see he has like 5k matches and 4,5 wins you think hes a good rival and then after he lose, bye bye.
I say if you quit while in the match then you lose experience points/level down. Then they wouldn't be doing it.
Will Exit Path 2 have a lobby? This would help organize everything. This will see who's online, what games are active, and enables people to interact to each other in the lobby better than interacting every 20 or less seconds before the game starts again.

I agree with this, but what if you need to go in the middle of the game? I can't always finish the game I'm racing before I have to go.
Lobby system has been an interesting idea. One of the things people really liked in Exit Path 1 was that it had a direct lobby system, meaning people jumped directly onboard to games and didn't have to wait in awful "waiting for random person to join me" sort of scenarios.
But I think there's ways around that. The big thing I want to continue to offer is Quick Play, but around that I want to create a lobby and room creation system that allows users to create private or public (or semi-public) rooms. This way groups of users can allow (or disallow) each others into rooms.
And then we get into how people earn XP in private rooms... ugh. I don't think I want to allow that.
I hate complicating simple games, and Exit Path has always been about being simple. So whatever I'm doing I'm going to keep it as simple and easy-to-follow room systems.
Speaking of which, does everyone like the current amount of runners per room? More? Less?

Instead of having five players in the room there should be around seven or eight. It would make racing much better than how it is now with more players in the room it increases the chance of running into someone worth racing, also, if there are private rooms then more friends could play.

Yeah just let it out. Make Xp-gain only for Quick games where u join random persons. Other games (e.g. SC2) do it the same way and it just works fine. Costum games (Private or semiprivate games) dont give ladder points there.

5ive was just the perfect choice right of the bat imo. The more ppl in a room the better the Host has to be with his internet connection. Most Hosts reach their limit with 5 already...
@matrix on marathon lately i havent been dying on the spike part ^^
I still can't do that part correctly. It could be because I don't play multiplayer as often, but good job. I might start playing multiplayer again soon so that I can see how it's changed.
@ matrix it hasnt changed, but there are just more newbies and less pros, but ep2 will fix that.
@john i think the number should be raised, maybe even to 10. with only 5 in a room, its ex for rooms to fill up and ur less likely to find talent (unless ur not looking for talent)
And then we get into how people earn XP in private rooms... ugh. I don't think I want to allow that.
How about unlocking the lobby with the grandmaster rank? Hopefully at that level most people will want to play good opponents, not just make tons of XP. Faith idea is also ok, but I think 0 XP is too harsh :P how about 75% less than usual?
About the number of runners, I think 5 is fine, but 6 and 7 are good too. How about always 5 in quick play, and letting people choose when they create a room?
Also, I'd really like a new kudos system. Now kudos are just given randomly most times, but I think it would be great if they would be something like "I think you are good, and I think you deserve to be a grandmaster, so I give you kudos." Also, I think kudos from experienced players should give much more XP, like one kudo = 1% of the runner's XP or something like that. in this way you're more likely to become a grandmaster if the top players actually think you're good and give you kudos.
I've always liked the thought of racing with large amounts of people. If you're able to keep the lag to a minimum and be able to recognize yourself within a group of players all in the same spot, I think it would be great . Maybe the host being able to open additional slots?
The HostTimer glitch has been band-aided over and over again. Somewhere in the mix the host timer on Smartfox gets self-destructed, whether it's host drop or host data not being passed correctly. I'm hoping to offload the timer to the server this round, that way the host has no control over the timer. This means writing server-side but I'll take a crack at it.
Needless to say, about 75% of the multiplayer code is getting rewritten. Exit Path was my first multiplayer project so there were a lot of hiccups (and a lot of hiccups coming from Smartfox as well). So I look forward to this next one to really smooth things out.
