I think each year AG needs an olympics where 200 popular games are chosen and after 2 weeks the person with the most 1st's at the leaderboard wins something.
There could be Mod/Admin made forum games especially for the event like:-
The AG Pub Quiz - people have to answers as many of the 50 questions based on the histoire of AG.
Now that is a problem. Maybe you could ask the game maker the highest possible score you could get and anything better than that would be cheating. Then the problem is maybe they got it fairly but we removed it.
Where we have a special forum in GAMING for this olympic competition. There is a sign up sheet and rules for it and once you sign up you can play in any game. There could be
Pub Quiz Animation game
and other ones. We could set it up and we could have judges. Then we tally up all the medals and the top three with the most win a certain amount of AP.
Well, we allow users to create writing competitions and they can win a merit for it. I would have to see the game to determine if awarding a merit would be worth it. And the other moderators would have to agree to something like this.
I remember bits and pieces of having flash game tournaments in AG. Oh yeah, I participated in most of them in '09-10! I'm not sure if there were merit prizes awarded though. The big shocker is that we had plenty of participants *gasp* do this for fun, not profit. The higher ups were touchy on the subject, since the submission for proof had to involve screenshots. If we were playing a game and had to play via highscores, how else would we compete? This led to questionable material used as entries.
It'd be pretty awesome to have actual, constant gaming tournaments, whether they include merit prizes or not, since when I participated in them, they were a lot of fun.
