Okay, so my little brother apparently walks in his sleep (Posted here)
I guess I'll just start a sleep walk thread. Feel free to talk about:
.Your experiences with sleepwalking
.Facts about it
.Any stories you find (hopefully kind of funny) about it
.Why people sleepwalk
.Etc.

Joe96 is your brother?
Once when I was eight-ish, I went downstairs and got a glass of water, even though I would never have done that normally. I wasn't sleepwalking, but I wasn't fully awake either.

No, I'm not his brother. I have asked my little brother if he wanted an account before but he's more of an xbox person I guess :P

Because of where my room is I can hear rain and sticks and such hit the roof of my house. And I apparently sleep walk out of my room to find somewhere quite to sleep when there is a storm.

I once had a friend sleepover and he was sleepwalking. I couldn't fall asleep but he did and like 30 minutes after I was bored he just gets up and he kinda was walkin like he was drunk or somethin and he walks right into a wall and that wakes him up lolz.

I get books out, turn my light on, play the piano, and once I turned the TV on which woke me up.

But, due to my lack of sleep, it happens less often now :]

What I wonder is how you do all those things while still being asleep? Cause when my friend was sleepwalking he didn't have any sence of the space around him. So how do you either walk up to the TV or pick up the remote is beyond me.

It is possible, when a person sleepwalks he is still conscious of his surroundings.

Amazing how many people here have sleepwalking experience. I don't recall having any myself.

He can be dreaming and be conscious of the surroundings at the same time. Only not as conscious as when he is fully awake.

Cool so it's like half is in dreamland (cheesy name) and the other half is in real world.

lol i didnt expect to see a thread like this. anyway, i always used to be a sleepwalker. usually i cant remember what happened when i wake up in the morning. i do exactly what the comment above me says. im part here and part in my dream. so when i sleepwalk i can dream about anything and believe its true. for example: one night i ran up and down the stairs over and over and started yelling there is a shark. idk if there is anything you can do about sleepwalking. lol it actually helped me once because in one of our school tripps some of the students wanted to spill a bottle of shampoo over my head while i was sleeping. exactly when one of them came close to me i just got up in one swift move and he got so scared he didnt come near me again in those nights lol

I don't know if you call this sleepwalking, but when my moms or dad try to wake me up I go to this half dream, half real life state. A good example is this morning when my mom was telling me to walk up I thought to myself "I should wake up and kill the tiger!" And what I said made perfect sense to me!

Also when I was young and used to go sleep in my parents room at night, because I was scared. I used to wake up in my bed thinking that I sleepwalked from my parents to my room when I it was my dad puting me in my bed the hole time!

I'm not sure if this is true or not, but someone told me that someone couldn't swim, but when they sleepwalked they could, and then they got woken up while swimming, and she drowned.

However, I don't know if it is true..

I bet it's that if you're in your own home where you know where everything is, it's easier to get around even if you're sleeping. Maybe that's why your friend ate wall when he slept over at your house.

One night I was talking with my sister-in-law on the phone, and in mid-sentence she screamed because my nephew was peeing in the hallway. Her screaming didn't wake him, he just finished up and went back to bed, haha. He didn't remember anything the next day either.
