Has anyone ever heard of either one of these bands? They are the shining examples of Alternative, and a couple of my all time favorite bands. I would like to hear some thoughts or opinions about these bands.
Here is a music video by both bands, tell me what you think:
man these guys suuuuuuccckkkk watching those videos is wasted time i will never get back i personally hate them but if you like them then more power to ya even though they are horrible
Wow, that is really sad... Does anyone here even know who these guys are? They were real popular in the 70's and 80's, they DEFINE alternative, and it seems nobody even cares, it's really sad... Does anyone have something to say about this, aside from Thor and DBS?
I've heard of them and listen to some of their music. I think that they are okay and not awful, but compared to todays music they "suuuuuuccckkkk". I do not really like them, but your question was if I heard of them and that answer is yes my friend.
.....Wow, such negative reception of the founders of Alternative. Does it really come across as bad music? I mean, I can understand not liking a song or 2 by them, but just plain sucking? Danny Elfman and Mark Mothersbaugh have been doing the scores of several movies, including Tim Burton's movies(Danny Elfman), and the Cartoon shows like Rugrats and Powerpuff Girls(Mark Mothersbaugh). Is there at least one song by either of these bands that somebody likes? I don't want to hear an answer from Thor or DBS, because you already know all about this, and I really don't want to hear anything else you have to say.
I actually liked that Dead Man's Party song. It's far from my favourite as I sort of prefer modern music, but it is much better than most "old songs" I've heard, and actually above average compared to todays music. Had I been born 20+ years ago, this might've been my favourite band.
So, to summarize it, is it awesome, no, is it good, yes, will I put this song on my Spotify playlist, yes, will I favourite it, no.
Couldn't listen to that Devo song because apparently it was blocked in my country.
Not very strange. A lot of clips, most of them music related and from Sony Music Entertainment (meanies), are blocked for viewing from outside the U.S.
What is very strange, however, was that Devo clip you linked. I don't mind a little bit of insanity every now and then, but that clip was just weird. Just... Yeah, weird. Creepy-weird.
I agree, Devo is weird, but that's kinda why I like them. It's good to see someone around here who likes (or at least tolerates) Oingo Boingo... Most people think Oingo Boingo is stupid or something, idk! You should see their Halloween performances, they rocked the house! I think I found one here:
I would highly recommend that album, it was produced by Brian Eno! I would also recommend you don't watch this video, unless you feel like melting your brain! I would also like to hear some more thoughts and opinions about these bands, I don't care if it's positive or negative...
