Brah, You need to calm down and have a bit of an open mind.

When I was a little younger I studied with Jehovah's witnesses, and my mum currently studies once I week with them, so I am quite a strong believer of god, but this doesnt mean I cant look at things from other peoples perspective.

You and I may find the idea of Evolution, and that crazy thing called science a bit mind boggling, But doesnt mean we cant TRY and understand it. You believe in what you believe in, now accept what other peoples beliefs are.

Ik this probz has nothing to do with whats been going on, but tbh tl;dr.

The misunderstanding is that Christians live to benefit GOD and other people. Atheists love to benefit themselves.

You may believe that it is morally correct to preach to people and try to convert them because you believe you are saving them from eternal punishment by doing so, but that isn't going to work because what you believe isn't what atheists believe. Think about it, you think you are saving people by preaching, but atheists do not. In order to convert atheists, you need to provide evidence. You can't convert an atheist by assuming that they believe the same things as you do before you've even proven anything.

Way to go! What great deductive reasoning you have! Lack in belief of god equates to being selfish! And you're great friends with some self-centered atheists as well right? **** them atheists, they never give to charity or take the time to help other people, I mean what's the point right? You only help people because you want to please god! Why else?

Being atheist doesn't say what you believe in, it only says what you don't believe in. You can't say you know what atheists believe; you can merely say you know what some people believe, who happen to be atheist at the same time.

HahiHa it just doesn't sink in with some people that atheism is by definition just a lack of belief and nothing more, yet brah asserts that its some kind of religion and pertains to some view of the world?!

Ya, many are those who don't quite understand the concept of atheism.. mainly because they're so used to being part of a believing community.

Forgive me if that was what I implied, God loves all people, even thieves, robbers, and murderers.
It's not that Athiests arent giving, loving, wonderful people, the Athiests I have known put them selves in the position of god. Therefore by all definition, it is a religion.

Define religion, because as far as I see it no, atheist is the opposite of religion, its a lack of religion. Atheists don't believe in a deity and atheists don't have to perform any sort of rituals, they aren't a collective group that must all follow the same doctrine.

As I remember MRWalker would say, atheism is not the opposite of religion, just the lack of belief in a deity. He often said buddhists, for instance, could very well be called atheists, because they have no deity, yet they are still kinda religious. Of course, most atheists are not religious at all, and it is surely no religion since whatever they do, the only thing that defines them as atheists is the lack of belief in a deity; so when brah's friends put themselves in the position of a god, it's nice and all, but that has not to do with atheism.
And yes, I would like to see brah's definition of religion too
