Maybe, but the movie made it really sketchy and flashy. But if you looked at some facts, You would see a steady even crowd of ppl who believe in this or not. I personally don't agree with any of this crap at all. But keep in check that this always will have a small fraction of ppl who are HOBOs who think the world is gonna end because they are poor and they do not want to see themselves like they are.
-Where was the Black Hole in 2008 launched by CERN using the LHC? They said it will swallow the whole world. Whoa, we are still here, aren't we? -Where was the "End of Time" on May 11th? Right now, it's 6:18 PM here in central Europe, and now it's 6:19 PM, time is still passing normally...

Simply, I just don't agree, but I have to admit it, I am a bit scared.
In my opinion it might be real. With all those earthquakes around the globe happening I seriously think it might end. Just hope the Volcanoes in YellowStone doesn't erupt... Like the movie.
The only reason everyone is freaking out is because of "2012" and because the Myan or Mian calender ends in 2012. They ended it because they thought thier culture and all of the mians would have died by then. so stop freaking out the world will definantly NOT end in 2012!
I know that because scientists would've told us already! If the mians back in like 727 or something figured out how to tell what the future years' calenders would be, then obviously our own modern scientists have figured out an even more advanced way to tell!
