Just a sub-topic question, what's your FPS like? Mine's pretty awesome. I mean, it's not like those NASA Supercomputers that get 50,000 FPS on all high settings and the most demanding mods installed, but, I get 200-300 on all high settings, max FPS, etc. with the exception of just having Normal render distance. And view bobbing and clouds off.

I get on average 500fps (its so fun to make fun of my friends) but when I have about 2000 chickens on my screen at the same time in the nether it drops down to 57.
1. You can play minecraft for free, download the game off minecraft.net and leave the login empty. You can play but u will play offline.
2. If you want to play multiplayer, u need a minecraft acount. Not sure this is allowed, but you can get a list of acounts with username + password. at http://www.bugmenot.com/view/minecraft.net. Just type it in at the login.
Woo-hoo! I found diamond! Hell yeah! So, anyway, I was making a HUGE strip mine at diamond level, came across a cave that led into a lava lake, and saw a little bit of blue on the top. I cleared the lava lake out, mined everywhere around the diamond, and mined it. 6 DIAMOND!
I made a pick, sword, and shovel, but, I decided that wasn't enough. I went back in, and found SOME MORE! 3 more diamond! Enough for a full set of diamond tools. I know, I'm boss.
That's...nice? Diamond isn't all -that- rare, it's just the most rare. There's still more than enough of it to do basically whatever you want with diamond except line rooms with blocks of it.

Dirt overhang + gravel into lava = sealed area, dig out the inside of the sealed off area and yay, no diamond falls into lava.
I know, I'm boss.
On average when I go on a mining trip I find around 15-20 ores of it before I return.
