Yeah... Clay is hard to come by and impossible to farm.
That's usually what I do, but on rare occasions I build a nice house, usually mostly made of cobble and glass, if I feel rich enough I'll make the floors wood planks.
That's cool. How many rooms do you like to have? Do each rooms have specific functions? Maybe one room as a bedroom, another room as a small library, maybe stairs to a basement with a fireplace, and maybe a ladder to an attic with all your chests of supplies. Or do just have one room because "All I need is efficiency. Screw aesthetics."
If I'm feeling fancy then I'll usually make two lava falls flowing into each other with a painting over it and smooth stone slabs keeping in the lava, then I'll usually put dimond blocks for the wall that all that is on, it looks really nice.
That sounds like it would be really nice. Especially how the lava might light up the room and spare you some torches.
Also when I have a pool I usually put lapiz on the interior and bottom to make it look more blue and fancy.
Lapiz blocks or lapiz-colored wool?
Ahh that brings back memories of when I made my house out of watermelon blocks
How the heck did you make houses out of watermelon blocks?
I don't know if anybody else does this, but sometimes I make "couches" using stairs and signs. Picture:
Heyy... That's pretty fancy. Though I prefer half-slab couches.

When I feel fancy, it usually means I have chests full of stuff, I usually build a really big house (monsters glitch inside alot when you make them big though, impossible to fix) and then separate the space into the rooms I need later.

It will pretty much light up the whole room so there's no need for torches in it, but I put them on either side of the painting to make it look nicer.

Lapiz, the pure stuff since it's darker and looks more like water, I actually got the idea from a castle I went to see that had a pool with a very dark blue bottom (in the RL)

my friend really likes farming so he made a huge watermelon farm and he forgot to pay land taxes so I claimed half of his produce for a week instead. Watermelon blocks are generaly just like regular blocks except they require silk touch so you won't waste the block for slices.
Mines are horrible, they take so much time to walk back and forth that I spend most of my time just commuting.
I once Found a vein of coal that was like 100 somthing coal. That was a good day. Good times, good times. Love MC, great game, awesome concept. Really great graphics. LOL.
Monsters only spawn in dark places. Fill your rooms with torches, glowstone, redstone lamps, and jack-o-lanterns and you should be fine.
It is really really impossible to get rid of the problem, I've literaly covered my house n tourches before because I was so annoyed, put tourches aournd the house on the ground as well (got alot of comments from the peeps on my server about my strange behavior lol) and then about a day after doing that I go upstairs and a creeper blows up in my face... So it's just some really weird glitch on minecraft that causes it.
Im not so sure I like the graphics on minecraft and the fact that it looks like an old nintendo game. I guess they are just going for that classic look or something but if it had better graphic and maybe made some money and sold some actually games then I might try it. Otherwise Ive got Gmod and TF2 for my gaming.
Me and my friend played the scavenger hunt challenge, where you have 30 minutes to collect as many unique items as possible in your chest and inventory. We did pretty badly, and ended up with a score of 76.
