So I decided to try Hardcore mode just to see what it was like... It wasn't nearly as hard as I expected. I ended up dieing because I fell down the shaft I made :P
Hard mode was actualy easier than normal minecraft for me since in hard mode all you do is build dirt huts and make swords cause you know what to expect and in reg minecraft you arent constantly on guard and end up walking outside to get some fish and get blown up be a creeper.
Also the actual difficulty of monsters dosen't change, its just the volume of monster changes.
I think that having hard mode on minecraft was quite a fail idea since its engine and everything is made for creating stuff, not hunting for something (except in the case of chickens)
Some of them hit harder and/or have higher health points.
Weird, i didn't notice that..
I suppose, but sometimes it's interesting some of the stuff you can do with the mobs, like building mazes for them to go through or stuff like that. I think it adds a unique touch. Also your point of turning around and getting blown up by the creeper and all.
But thats like using them in your building. I remember i once build a arena with monster dispencers and that included monsters, but the building is what counted.
One of the best I've seen. Huge mountain range, some elaborate caves. There's a dungeon near the start in a cave.
Cool, I remember I once found a seed that had a village spawned with a dungeon going through one of the buildings. Above ground lava is always impressive also. But now notch made the seeds so that they always spawn mountains and caves and things so much that finding a flat place for a nice big building is almost impossible, now i usualy build it overhanging or inside a mountain. Only on rare occasions will i be persistant enough to dig a square spot for a level home.
I feel like I should have some sort of project or goal... I think about it.
It's always fun when you have a project, it also is fun when you try to compete on a creative server for the best building.

No he didn't, he did the exact opposite in the adventure updates. The only place you can find large mountains now is in the extreme hills biome (yes, it is actually a biome and that is actually it's name), everywhere else the ground doesn't vary much higher or lower then sea level.
Check this out! Did it work? I got this from youtube, it's an actual seed! The seed is gimmeabreak. Your spawn point will be in the village, i hope you like it

I think that I was mistaking the making of the hill biome with the whole world having mountains since all I can ever find in minecraft is hill biomes and I just assumed that those are constant through out the world
