Many instances of school shootings, bombings, or killing is often pointed at video games as the cause, but is it really their fault? Just because a game allows you to kill civilians does not mean that someone will want to do it, I have recently had a discussion with a friend who saw on the news that the game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, was to blame for the recent Russian bombing because the game has a level where you are able to kill civilians in a Russian airport. The video games that allowing innocent killing does not mean they support it. How a person is raised and treated growing up is why they would even consider this, which most kids have enough commen sense to know, you cannot "restart" or "respond" in life. I strongly disagree to the idea that video games are the cause of most killings today.
i think anyone who makes a mental goal of achiveing in real life compared to a video probably is aloney person has had a tramatic childhood had a bad experince that has mentally scared them or has mental comditions. (Notice all these conditions also may lead to the history of a ceral killer)
Many people enjoy video games because they show things that are impossible to reality, or thrills that will most likely never happen. If someone attempts these, they are a fool. I'm not saying that games can't inspire them, but not to takes games literally or in the wrong way in reality
I'm gonna lay this down right here. Anyone who has ever killed anyone with inspiration through a video game was already ****ed in the head to begin with.

Pow.
I guess the reason to argue against this is so hard is because it's such a retarded thing to say in the first place tbh. Everything influences you, Video Games? Probably a better influence than Real Life. Why? Because you know it's exaggerated, you know it's not true, you know that you don't move IRL with W, A, S and D.

<---- Boom goes the dynamite!
But seriously, people just look for a scapegoat to blame for happening things because they are afraid to tell the kids' parents that they treated him like crap and that made his kid into a loony. For example, they blamed a song from slipknot on columbine. People are just looking for a scapegoat to blame. Like drugs for gangs, the internet for bullying, and all of this other crap. When it's people who cause each others, if not their own distruction

That basically says everything.
and even people with no defects could get obsessed too much with games like that and decide to think "hey! this game is so awesome. omg people could think i'm so cool if i do this kind of stuff. like omg this could be my destiny. I could be just like that person. that is what i want to be!"
If somebody that is like 14+ years old think that, then they have mental issues. Thus, video games are no problem as long as you are mentally healthy.
It certainly seems that video games are on par with other technological mediums, which means that the effects are relatively minimal, however they are there, and there is a potential an adverse response.
True, but that's how reality is. Nothing is perfect.

Pretty sure it's the people that hate video games that say that the video games are bad. It's like when people that don't like a certain kind of people that they put all the blame on them. Like Jews, blacks... A very hypocrite thing to do.

That's exactly right in this situation.
Like Jews, blacks... A very hypocrite thing to do.
Indeed. It is a serious thing to put blame on in medium since it can influence people greatly (games not so much, but anything else like films etc, very much).
Games might influence people, maybe because they'll begin to see everyone as something that can re-spawn, or worse, something that doesn't matter, dead or alive.
I believe it possible, but very very rare. There are some people who are born with social and psycopathic disorders. For example, someone with a disorder relative the ones previously mentioned, would start off killing animals and eventually on to human beings. The same can be same for peoples with a mind disorder could possibly think that killing in video games can be done in real life for the same reasons they kill in a video game, such as: for fun, over a girl, drug deal, or whatever. So inadvertently, video games could actually cause people to kill other peoples.
I often kill people in video games for no reason at all. Just to kill them. But I can't even punch a person in real life witout feeling extreme guilt and regret. If someone is killing people and just happens to play violent video games, then the guy was going to kill people anyway. No regular person plays a video game so they can go do everything in the game that they can do in real life. How many seals play black opps? How many people drive a stable speed limit in a racing game? (Well maybe just to try it.) The point is that video games definitly does not inspire serial killers. Serial killers would have been serial killers even if they never picked up a controler in their entire life.
[quote]Serial killers would have been serial killers even if they never picked up a controler in their entire life. Exactly what I'm saying, but if a serial killer would happen to pick up a controller at a young age it very possible could speed up his drive to kill.
