Ok, today I went to the homepage and one of the AG facebook followers had a picture of hitler. You don't allow custom armatars because of inappropriate pictures, then you let people from another site you can't moderate throwing in every kind of inappropriate avatars. Come on.

I didn't like this idea of Facebook at the home page where you can see people's real names and maybe real pictures. It is "breaking their privacy" and I think just a "like" button should be fine. At least the Detective Grimoire thing has gone.

I don't see why it's such a big deal. It's only on the front page, where at least I don't spend all that much time. It's pretty small. It fits decently.

At least the Detective Grimoire thing has gone.

I think ads like that are pretty interesting. A nice change from the plain old blue. Besides, AG has to make money too.

You can only see their names and pictures if they've already put it on their Facebook profile, and if they have, they're aware of the risks and are fine with it.

the detective grimoire thing was awesome. I love super flash bros graphics.
but, I wasn't talking about privacy, because if someone is on facebook don't care about his privacy that much. I was talking about the paradox that the AG people don't allow custom avatars that can moderate but allow the ones they have no control on. I didn't think about taking a screenshot, but I assure you that a guy had a hitler photo as avatar.

I just don't think that it looks right how it is. I personally think it's fine to have a link to facebook, it's just I think it's a little "in your face" I posted a screenshot (hopefully) of what it looks like.

I think it looks just fine. The only problem I can see with how it looks is that it has borders, while the Site News and Web Games windows don't.

it's just I think it's a little "in your face"

It's not a very big window, and it's on the side of the screen, so it's not like it's all over the place or anything. Doesn't look nearly as bad as some of the ads that are on the site, and if this is a way for them to reach out to more people, then I say go for it.

how would they know that their picture and name will appear on the homepage? it's not as if when you click "like" a warning pops up. i think it's dumb, and it could show bad images. i liked the top ten thing better.

Meaning if they choose to have their profile public, then it will happen. It's kinda like the ArmorGames Terms and Conditions .1% of people actually read before they registered. You assume the risks when you do X action or allow X method. If you don't want such a thing, either don't allow it to happen, meaning tweak your account settings, or don't use it at all! They have only themselves to blame if there's a negative consequence from having their accounts shown.

But does this really have anything to do with ArmorGames itself? It's just a widget to show how popular the site is. Sheesh.

Hitler himself is an inappropriate picture? Oh ho hoh, don't you get me started on this....

Some companies do not want to get involved in Hitler and be dragged into some sort of situation that they are not interested in. Example, I'm sure it's the only case.

Not everyone is aware of how information is distributed across the internet and almost now one can understand the intricacies of the terms of conditions even if they are supposedly more simplified now.
Social media networks don't make it the easiest to manage your information and nowadays your expected to be part of it. Some places practically force to be part this &quothenomenon". If you don't believe me then using only facebook information try to find a way to permanently delete your account, no outside links just facebook ui. Also account setting only let your keep some information from being distributed, you don't have total control.

Yeah it's not AG fault but they are helping the process. You like a few pages, facebook sells your information to another company. They then build up an accurate profile of you without your knowledge. Then ???.

Point of thread: I saw a picture of Hitler on the homepage! I dunt liek hitler!

Point of this post: There is nothing wrong with there a picture of Hitler hanging out somewhere. You see his face almost daily: On the TV, in a history book, in video games, etc.. Any image that would be allowed in the forums is also allowed as a Facebook default. Facebook has a similar acceptable images policy as we do (in enough ways so that offensive ones get yanked). Thus the chances of seeing an unacceptable image in the Facebook area is super low. Even if one shows up, the average lifetime of one lasting is super low. You can't avoid all less than agreeable things in life all the time.
