Full Story

Yes, that's right. Activision has cancelled its Guitar Hero division. Its too bad really. Now all we have left is Rock Band.

Personally, there were only a couple of songs in the entire Rock Band series that I liked and weren't already in Guitar Hero.

Really? They cancelled Guitar Hero? That sucks. I like Rock Band, but only because I have played Guitar Hero once, but Rock Band is the one with drums, right?

They should have only made 1 Guitar Hero game and then had DLC updated regularly. I can't believe people continued to pay full price for the same game over and over again.

I was pretty irritated with the one on the Wii that had the greatest hits or something like that. I went to play Rage Against the Machine - Killing in the Name Of and they changed the keys. It made it worse.

Well, Rock Band was the first to introduce the drums and the microphone into that style of game. Since the 4th main Guitar Hero game, they have added them as well.

They should have only made 1 Guitar Hero game and then had DLC updated regularly.

I have to agree with you there. It seems that it would have been better if they added more DLC instead of making a different game each year.

they changed the keys

Do you mean they changed the pitch of the song? Could it have been a cover?

Personally, I would have preferred that Rock Band went under instead of Guitar Hero. I just looked through the entire list of DLC for the Rock Band series, and there were very few songs that I liked. The Guitar Hero setlists have always appealed to me more.

Asherlee, you are totally right. I played that game, got Rockband 3 for christmas, and it loses its fun so quickly..... and i think its better than GH... Guitar Hero doesnt have much goin for it.... good thing, in my opinion, that they finished it.

its harder then rock band by about 100x. rock band is more if you play the game casually, if your looking to be pro you play guitar hero

Being a musician I'm glad this is happening
I'm tired of my friends saying "dude I just played through fire and flames on expert" when it took them about a day to master the song

Erm....chill?

So the last of Activision's Guitar Hero series was Warriors of Rock, right? I should run over and get that right now. I've looked at the song list and more than a few are for my genre and speed. It's a shame about the series, though. It was truly an original game series, excluding the part about them ripping the concept from Poppin' Music, an arcade game that few mortals know about.
