I am considering getting either an airsoft, or pellet gun. Which one should I get, and what is the difference?

Air soft is safer and not as strong. Mainly because most come with plastic bb's. Some come with metal.

Pellets hurt a lot, pellet guns are also stronger.

I used to have a pellet gun and I shot my window out with it, but with the airsoft gun it doesn't destroy things.

Airsoft guns are just for fun if you want to play war with some buddy's. But if you do that with a pellet gun you're friend will probably have to go to the hospital if he was shot with a pellet gun.

Airsoft = safer & more fun.

Pellets = dangerous & deadly.

Yeah i agree but what are you using your Gun for? Pellet Guns are for more hunting and Target stuff, from what I Know. You Know what, just go with airsoft, it is completely Safe, unless you get your Eye Shot out

I used to have a high power pellet gun that I hunter squirrels and rabbits with. I had a camo suit and stuff, loads of fun. If you want to hunt and stuff get a pellet gun, if you want to have fun get an airsoft.

I'd somewhat agree with you there Matrix. However, when my church has had airsoft competitions in the past (somewhat sacrilegious, I know), the pellets have gotten stuck in the wood and bricks on the side of the gym.
Anyways, I would recommend airsoft. They are very fun to have wars with people, especially if you have elaborate "map" made like my church does.

I've had a pellet hit my in the leg before. It went in and I had to get it taken out at the hospital.

What are you planning on doing with it exactly? just that would give you more specifc responses.

And if you're planning on aiming a pellet gun at or even towards anyone purposefully or accidentally, don't... those things HURT, got knicked by one.

Depends what you are doing.

Pellet is normally for practicing hunting and it can kill small animals that are like rats.

Airsoft is for doing random stuff with friends.

Pellet feels more satisfying to shoot in my opinion though.

I'd say if you have to ask the question about what the difference is between the two then you don't even know enough about the topic to be thinking about buying/using one. Do your research, and also look into the proper use of those items. Airsoft is a great sport that I play, but safety is key, and a pellet gun shouldn't ever be considered for shooting at another person.

This is the airsoft gun I'm considering on getting. Spring powered M16A6 w/ black finish, collapsable stock, and R.I.S. Comes with Front Grip, Silencer, Flashlight, Magazine, Safety Glasses, and Strap.
(I sounded quite professional there, eh?)

Could someone tell me one more thing... what does F.P.S stand for?

I don't really now, but from these posts, pellet guns sounds FUN!!!
